after 4.5 years of mbbs, completion of final year, there is internship of 1 year in the affiliated hospitals although regular clinical duty and posting are occurring every year but afterwards it’s only the hospital duty.
i cleared NEET with 607 marks and had options over government medical colleges of punjab and the best suited college was gmc amritsar. its counselling is done under BFUHS university and the cut off in 2021 was 570 which i cleared.

Eligibility criteria for the placement is to be passed in every year during your course and do your intership, on an avergae it gives 40-60 thousand and the percentage of students getting placements is almost 100%. My plans after getting the degree is not planned lol
College is good i must say, the environment, greenery, proffesors is above satisfactory. People are very friendly, and uh ragging... its not too much, its just interaction with seniors nothing like torture or bullying. So the only problem i am having with my college is the freaking high fees!!! Its almost double the fees as compared to other government medical colleges of neighbouring states and the internship's stipend is so low its like fudging 10k, tf are you serious pb govt? Anways overall my college is good. Good for me at least. Thankyou :)
Read Full ReviewAfter 4.5 years of study, 1 year internship is available with stipend of 15000 rs which is credited into account after 3months with full amount of 3months. Internship is good in gmc amritsar, faculty is helpful and provides good clinical skills.
Ambience and college life of amritsar, it's a plus factor for choosing GMC amritsar . Amritsar is famous for street food. Intercollege fest veisalgia happened in october in our college, various workshops are held.

Read Full ReviewAfter the final year/4, the prof's compulsory hospital internship of 12 months is there. In which night shifts, OPDs, etc are done for all clinical departments in the hospital. After the degree, students give either NEET PG /USMLE/PLAB/AMC who want to pursue post-graduation. Others join hospitals and government clinics.
The fact that is one of the oldest and most renowned medical Colleges in Punjab. With amazing academics and alumni who later became heads and leaders of various and one of the best medical Colleges in India. The eligibility for admission is through NEET.
Read Full ReviewIt is a medical college so there is no concept of placement here. after finishing the course students have to undergo an internship of 1 year following which they get their degree. People usually prepare for PG exams like ini-cet neet pg etc.
It is a government-funded college thus the tuition fees are very low when compared to the exploitative fees charged by private institutions for the same course. students have to clear the NEET UG exam with a good enough rank to get admission into the college.

There are short number of medical colleges in punjab , Govt medical college is one of them . The city Amritsar is itself a reason to choose this college for graduation The bad things about this college is their culture which is getting approved day by day tho.
