PMCH Patna MBBS Admission 2026

A valid NEET UG score is the only basis for MBBS selection at PMCH. The college does not hold an entrance test or interview. Under UGMAC 2025, the last allotted General category candidate had a Bihar state rank of 4,967, showing the high level of competition for a seat.

PMCH Patna MBBS Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must pass NEET UG and study Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in Class 12. The required marks and counselling route vary by category.

• The candidate's age is calculated on December 31, 2026.
• English must be one of the subjects studied in Class 12.

PMCH Patna MBBS Seat Allocation and Cutoff

The seat pool is split into two parts. Applicants from any state may compete for the 30 AIQ seats through MCC. The remaining 170 seats are available through UGMAC only to eligible Bihar domicile candidates.

The table records UGMAC 2025 Bihar state merit ranks. These are not All India Ranks.

These ranks apply to Bihar domicile candidates included in the state NEET merit list. The 2026 closing ranks may be different.

• MCC conducts counselling for the 30 AIQ seats through mcc.nic.in, and qualified applicants from every state may participate.
• BCECEB handles the 170 Bihar state quota seats through bceceboard.bihar.gov.in, for which Bihar domicile is required.
• Within every state quota category, women receive 30% horizontal reservation.
• The Bihar categories used for reservation are UR, EWS, BC, EBC, SC and ST.

UGMAC registration windows can be as short as 5 days. Applicants should keep their Bihar domicile certificate, caste certificate and NEET scorecard ready.

How to Apply for MBBS at PMCH Patna?

There is no separate PMCH MBBS application form. Students must use either the MCC portal for AIQ seats or the BCECEB UGMAC portal for Bihar quota seats.

Steps for MCC AIQ counselling for 30 seats:

• Create an account at mcc.nic.in when NEET UG counselling registration is available.
• Add PMCH Patna to the preference list after checking its code in the 2026 MCC seat matrix.
• After allotment, download the allotment letter and pay the required security deposit online.
• Take all original records to PMCH before the reporting period closes.

Steps for BCECEB UGMAC counselling for 170 seats:

• Register at bceceboard.bihar.gov.in and pay the INR 1,200 counselling fee applicable to General and OBC candidates.
• Upload the NEET scorecard, Bihar domicile certificate and caste certificate, where applicable.
• Arrange the choices for Bihar government medical colleges and include PMCH Patna.
• Download the allotment order and complete reporting at PMCH within the stated period.

Documents to carry to the PMCH admission office:

• Original NEET UG admit card and rank card with self-attested copies
• Original MCC or UGMAC allotment letter with a self-attested copy
• Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets and pass certificates
• Character certificate issued by the last institution attended
• Migration certificate and residential certificate
• Bihar domicile certificate for a state quota admission
• Caste certificate for applicants using a reserved category
• 10 passport-size photographs
• Anti-ragging undertaking obtained through antiragging.in or amanmovement.org
• Both parents must attend the PMCH admission process.

PMCH Patna MD and MS Admission 2026

NEET PG rank decides admission to all MD and MS programmes at PMCH. The college has 21 MD specialisations along with several MS options. MCC fills 50% of the PG seats, while BCECEB PGMAC manages the other 50%.

Every Bihar government PG medical seat carries a service commitment. After completing the degree, a doctor must work in Bihar government health services for 3 years. The penalty for leaving this bond is INR 25 lakh.

PMCH Patna MD and MS Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must hold valid registration with the NMC or a State Medical Council when they join.
• A student in the final MBBS year may apply for NEET PG but must finish the internship before admission.

The MD choices include General Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Community Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology, Radiology, Anaesthesiology and Dermatology. Available MS fields include General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology and ENT.

PMCH Patna MD and MS Selection Process

PMCH uses only the NEET PG merit position for postgraduate selection. Applicants do not need an interview or prior work experience.

• MCC handles the 50% AIQ seats through mcc.nic.in, and all qualified NEET PG candidates may take part.
• BCECEB PGMAC allots the 50% Bihar state quota seats through bceceboard.bihar.gov.in.
• The refundable PGMAC security deposit for a government medical college is INR 25,000 for UR/EWS candidates and INR 12,500 for SC/ST/EBC/BC candidates.
• Every applicant pays a non-refundable PGMAC registration and counselling charge of INR 2,200.
• Graduates must complete 3 years in Bihar government health services after the course.
• A bond breach costs INR 25 lakh, and the original MBBS marksheets remain with the authorities until the service is completed or the penalty is paid.

The service bond can affect plans for DM, M.Ch or employment outside Bihar. Applicants should read the current PGMAC prospectus and confirm the applicable bond conditions before accepting a seat.

PMCH provides broad clinical learning through its high patient load. Students also study within an established government hospital while paying subsidised government fees.

How to Apply for MD and MS at PMCH Patna?

For MCC AIQ seats:

• Complete registration at mcc.nic.in during the NEET PG counselling window.
• Select PMCH Patna and arrange the preferred specialisations in order.
• Once a seat is allotted, accept it and submit the online security deposit.
• Report to PMCH with the original records and the bond documents required by the Bihar Health Department.

For Bihar PGMAC seats:

• Apply through bceceboard.bihar.gov.in and pay the INR 2,200 registration fee.
• Upload the MBBS marksheets, internship completion certificate and medical registration document.
• Enter PMCH Patna and the desired specialisations in the choice list.
• Carry every original document to PMCH and complete admission before the allotment deadline.

PMCH Patna Super Speciality Admission 2026

DM and M.Ch admission at PMCH depends on NEET SS performance. MCC conducts one central counselling process for 100% of the super speciality seats in government, private and deemed colleges.

• A recognised MD or MS qualification from an NMC-approved institution is required.
• The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences conducts NEET SS.
• Before each counselling round, MCC publishes the PMCH DM and M.Ch seat matrix at mcc.nic.in.
• PMCH does not run a separate counselling process for these courses because MCC controls all available seats.

PMCH Patna Scholarships

Along with its subsidised government fees, PMCH students may seek support through Bihar and central government schemes.

• Bihar Post-Matric Scholarship: SC, ST, OBC and EWS students can apply through scholarships.gov.in. The award depends on the student's category and family income.
• Alumni Association Scholarship: Financially needy students with strong academic records may receive up to INR 20,000 per year.
• Bihar Saat Nischay Student Credit Card: Eligible students can obtain an interest-free education loan, with repayment postponed until the internship is complete.
• Internship stipend: During the compulsory 1-year internship, PMCH interns receive INR 11,000 to INR 22,000 per month.
