IERT Admission FAQs

Ques. What age conditions apply to IERT's diploma and B.Tech admissions?

Ans. Diploma applicants must have completed at least 14 years of age by July 1 of the admission year. IERT does not set a maximum age for either diploma or B.Tech admission. No minimum age is specified for B.Tech, but applicants must have passed Class 12 with the required subjects.

Ques. Which reservation rules does IERT follow while admitting students?

Ans. IERT Allahabad follows the Government of Uttar Pradesh reservation policy. Seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, candidates with physical disabilities, dependants of freedom fighters, and sons or daughters of defence personnel. The institute also reserves 20% of seats for female applicants from Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh residents usually receive preference, while applicants from other states may be considered when seats remain vacant.

Ques. What determines the allotment of a seat at IERT?

Ans. IERT calls applicants for counselling according to their merit rank. During counselling, students state their preferred course and department. The institute assigns seats by considering merit position, submitted preferences, seat availability and category reservation. An allotted seat becomes final only after the student completes document verification and pays the required fee.
