Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) Aurangabad, established in 2001 by the Gramodyogik Shikshak Mandal (GSM) and the MIT group of institutes, is an autonomous institute accredited with Grade 'A' by NAAC. It is permanently affiliated with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, and approved by AICTE, NBA, and DTE Maharashtra. According to MIT Ranking 2023, India Today ranked MIT 147th out of 281 colleges in India in the overall category.

MIT Aurangabad offers BTech as its flagship program. To be eligible, candidates must pass HSC (10+2) with a minimum of 45% marks (or 40% for Backward Classes) in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/Biotechnology, or equivalent subjects. Admission is based on MH-CET or JEE Main scores and counseling by DTE Maharashtra. The MIT Cutoff for JEE Main 2023 for general category BTech Round 2 ranged from 24018 to 70284. The MIT fees for BTech for various specializations range from INR 4.05 lakhs to INR 4.08 lakhs.

MIT Aurangabad Placement 2024 saw participation from 300+ companies, making over 1,500 offers in the last three years. The highest CTC offered was 80 LPA, and the highest internship stipend was INR 40,000. Top recruiters included Infosys, TCS, Fujitsu, Capgemini, IBM, Cognizant, Infintus, Mindtree, and others.
