NISER: A research based college

What I Liked

Campus is very huge and beautiful with greenery and good.
Faculty here is very helpful and good mentors.

What I didn’t like

It is little bit outside city it take half hour to reach City.
It is not good for the students who are not dedicated to science and research.

Hostel Facilities:

It is a compulsory residencial campus for every student. Mess is not compulsory you can opt for mess or canteen are for who do not take mess.There are lot of restaurants deliver food also to hostels and sweegy, zomato and blinkit.

Campus Life:

There is 'Umang' annual cultural event. Then thers is 'Unity cup' sports tournament in both of which batch wise compitition. Then there are Inter institute cultural and sports meets in December every year where IISERs, NISER, CEBS and IISc takes part. Library is very huge and and online also. There are various clubs like Drama, music, dance, yoga, gym and adventure, coding, gaming, many students enjoy.

Life in NISER

What I Liked

Library, labs and infrastructure and internet
Culture and curriculum is fascinating always

What I didn’t like

Authorities are corrupted, the HBNI funds disappears.
Students and communities are total trahs

Hostel Facilities:

Hostel is provided during admission. Hostel are fine you get double accommodation till 3years then single occupancy. You get free wifi/lan in the hostel and common room with games and Tv. Canteen are available only in some hostels only.

Campus Life:

Curriculum is fine all festivals are celebrated however funds are collected from students mostly and few are given by the institute. However there is inter iiser sports/cultural meet every year which the institute funds. Sports facilities over all is fine, ground needs improvement. Library and classrooms are great. And there are many social clubs or group for like minded people or specific activities.

Niser institute-The good,the bad and the worst

What I Liked

The college infrastructure is very good here
The college faculty is very knowledgeable.

What I didn’t like

The campus life is very bad here as it is very far from city.
The mess food is very bad and you have to pay on the basis you eat.

Hostel Facilities:

The canteen food quality is worst here,there is no taste in the food and you have to pay on the basis of what you eat.Hostels are good here but the environment is very humid and hot,also you cannot rent a room or do a pg because rules are strict here.

Campus Life:

The campus life is bad here as there is no after class life as nearest city is one hour away from college.There are many clubs here which you can take part.Also there are many sports played here which keep you engaged.

An Overview of NISER

Hostel Facilities:

While admission, one would be asked if they want to avail hostel facilities . There are 8 hostels in the campus ( 3 girls and 5 boys). Phd scholars get single rooms with desk and shelves available in room also with LAN facility in each room . There are several mess here mostly 3 ( i think ) with average of Rs 60 per meal so on an average 4.5k per month which is quite affordable. Menu is good ( I wont say best ) .

Campus Life:

There are many programmes and activities going on throughout the year , last fest that I remember is the UMANG fest in the month September 2024. Each and every festival is celebrated in the student activity center(SAC) . There are many clubs like Astro club, Nature Club, Drama and Music Club , Coding Club , Yoga Club and many more . Also sports like cricket, badminton , tennis, basketball , football, etc are some of the common sports here with amazing environment . All the details about the clubs and there websites are present in the NISER official website . One can check those as they are regularly updated .

NISER: A beautiful place for students

What I Liked

Campus is very beautiful and peaceful. Far from town it is good actually.
Hosts are good, food is good. It has own hospita which is very necessary

What I didn’t like

Maintain of hostel is not so efficient like washing machine available is less as compared to students.
They should plant more trees inside the campus. During summer it is very difficult to live in this place

Hostel Facilities:

Hostels are quite good. Neat and clean. Every day they clean the hostel and bathroom. The hostel fee is quite low. Food is available in most of the hostel. NISER has 4 canteens. Food quality is good and also it has every type of menu including veg and non-veg.

Campus Life:

The campus is quite good actually. I would say NISER has one of the best campuses in Odisha. NISER has sports grounds for many sports. NISER has a lot of clubs to improve social life. We in NISER celebrate every festival every year.

What I Liked

Campus, infrastructure, environment in college
Various courses, different cultures, and the peace you find in the campus

Campus Life:

Campus life is good, as it is a national college so u will able to see students from every corner of the country. Which i think it is the most good thing about campus, we got to know each other cultures. And the hostel facility is good they have spacious rooms
