What I Liked

I really like the college life . Like the campus life is happening and you get a lot of exposure.
The faculties are really sweet and helping . They are always there to help .

What I didn’t like

The one thing i hate the most is the college mess food.
The deadlines that we have to chase to complete the assignments. Because we are given bery less time to work and it becomes a struggle almost everytime.

Placement Experience:

I dont have much idea about different department's placements but the placement in my department that is fashion communication is really good. Everyone gets placed and the average pay is 500000 per year which i feel is good where people are not even getting placed . The highest package was somwhere around 1600000. The eligibility is ofcourse good grades in all sems amd the number of internships and graduation project quality . Few companies that recruits students are aditya birla group , titan , myntra , etc. My plan is to basically get some experience in the industry and then persue my masters degree in fashion management and that course is also offered here in nift .

Remarks:

I was really interested in design and graphics thats why i wanted to be in NIFT . I gave NIFT's entrance exam in 2023 and got selected . The entrance exam fee was 3000 . There were 2 rounds in the exam . One is general ability test and other is creative ability test . So about the college - it is a nice place to be in , the faculties are really helpful and encouraging , the course is also well planned and they teach you a lot of stuff that i am sure you wont be able to do from other colleges , the exposure is great . Fests and celebrations keep happening throught the year . The seniors are really great and they treat us just like their friends and i have never faced anything like raging or bullying by them . The college atmosphere is welcoming .

A honest review

What I Liked

I think people around you , of you make good friends you can actually be very knowledgeable and make good friends which will give you a growth.
Campus is also good they have movie nights and a fest called spectrum and much more clubs to be a part in.

What I didn’t like

I think some people because people are rude and misuse you , so be careful.
I think faculties were bit more friendly and not strict that students would fear them so much which leads us to not opening up about anything.

Placement Experience:

Yes the job opportunity will not flood you but you need to be skilled and knowledgeable to get a job but campus placement is very good in NIFT Bengaluru. So the highest package goes till 19lpa and lowest goes till 6lpa

Remarks:

The factors that made me choose this college is I wanted to do designing and loved fashion and styling . Written entrance exam is there and situation test is also conducted to enter into NiFT . So cute off critea depends on you rank and category.

NIFT Bangalore an honest review

What I Liked

The best thing about your college is how open it is its always feel with students working in every corner that you want to lay your eyes on
Another thing I really like about our college is the different club weeks that are offered for example sports week or cultural weak literary week just usually a lot of fun a lot of people just running around taking part in competitions a lot of cultural evening happening which brings everyone much closer together

What I didn’t like

What I hate about our college is the amount of pressure they put on us and the amount of extremely limited time that the give us to finish your assignments. It's always just one assignment filing on top of the other which gets to a student pretty badly
There is badly in a unity among the students everyone is just out to get the other person and that also like creates the sense of loneliness.

Placement Experience:

Third year I don't have much information on this but yes we do have campus placements and usually people from different NIFT fly down to NIFT Bangalore for the campus placements. From what I have heard that I be companies that come to our campus as recruiter but I am not very sure about the eligibility criteria for placement. Last year the highest package that was offered by the recruiters to one of our students was 19LPA. This student was from fashion accessories and lifestyle department with har deepling specialisation being in UIUX design. The lowest package that was offered was 4 lakhs per annum.

Remarks:

The reason I choose this college was because I always wanted to study design and I always wanted to be and NIFT and NIFT Bangalore offered the best fashion communication course in all of India hands I choose this college. There was an All India Entrance exam conducted as it is a government college, and for those who got above the cutoff, they had to go for round 2 which was the studio round. The preparation for the entrance exam honestly is little because does a lot of competition there is every year some four five lacs of students applying for the entrance exams and even giving it so the compression is pretty high and I went to a lot of design coaching centres and I started preparing for my exams from the beginning of my 11th grade.

NIFT BENGALURU HONEST REVIEW

What I Liked

Faculties are very helpful and will always help you in any issue.

What I didn’t like

There will be very less holidays after your 2nd year in college.

Placement Experience:

Placement and job opportunities are not that impressive as I’ve seen and heard from seniors. Big companies do come but the annual package is bad for Bachelor degree students, its good for Masters students.

Remarks:

I was interested in this design field and NIFT is one of the top design institutes in the world. For admission there is one written exam and one studio test. You get to give the studio test only if you pass the written exam.

About nift for you fashion enthusiasts

What I Liked

Our campus is very very creative we have paintings all over the campus which is done by students. This is held as a competition in our yearly fest called spectrum
The canteen and classrooms are very close by and easily accessible we also have a mini cafe coffee day for students to grab a drink while breaks between classes

What I didn’t like

I think the college can invest in better furniture for students in classroom as the furniture that’s available isn’t very comfortable for longer duration at time
The mess could be better and cleanlier have variety of food as right now the food options aren’t that available

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are available but most students in our department are placed before college placement. We get a really good and top-tier company for our final year internship. You get to apply in any part of India and job opportunities are never-ending

Remarks:

I came across this when I watched the movie Devil Wears Prada I was interested in fashion so I knew I wanted to peruse a career in fashion so I researched on fashion colleges in India and abroad and contemplating all the decisions I decided to stay in India and apply for gift as it has the highest reputation for fashion in India.

An overview of life at NIFT Bangalore

What I Liked

I really liked the faculty at the Bangalore campus. They have a very good and practical approach at teaching. It's more than just books or conventional tasks. They know how to get your mind working in ways you didn't even know you could. They are also very supportive and approachable.
The campus has the perfect atmosphere for a design student. Every wall has a creative touch to it. The campus is well equipped with resources accessible to all. It doesn't feel tiring to spend the entire day in campus. It has become like a second home.

What I didn’t like

The mess food could definitely be improved. Also the seating capacity falls short during rush hours.
I wish we had a bigger campus. It would have added to our campus experience.

Placement Experience:

Having only started the 2nd year I don't really have a lot of idea about the placement process but I had talked to a few seniors to gain a little knowledge about it. A good number of companies around 8-10 come for the on campus placements after the completion of 8th semester. Students sit for the placements with their resumes. Placements are also done off campus if someone lands a pre placement offer based on their graduation project. Almost 70% of the students get placed during the placement season with the average package ranging from 6 lakhs per annum to 20 lakhs per annum.

Remarks:

NIFT is the best option in the country when it comes to studying fashion. There is an entrance exam that one needs to clear for admission. It is a written exam with both the CAT(drawing) and GAT(theory) portions. There were no group discussions or interviews conducted. Once you clear the written exam you qualify for the second round which is the situation test which examines your craft and hands-on skills.
