IISER Berhampur BS-MS Admission 2024

Students who have completed Class 12 may enrol in a five-year dual-degree programme at IISER Berhampur. The curriculum combines research and classroom learning and offers plenty of opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration. The core courses in basic sciences make up the first two years of the programme, the third and fourth years are devoted to specialisation according to the candidate's request, and the fifth year includes a research project.

Eligibility Criteria

• Class 12 from a recognised board in any stream.
• As a result of the COVID-19 epidemic, the minimum requirement for admission to the BS-MS programme is now "passed Class 12 in any stream from a recognised board with a minimum of 60 percent aggregate (55 percent for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates)"
• Candidates in General category securing a rank within 10000 in the Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE Advanced are eligible to apply. For candidates belonging to reserved category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PD), their category rank would be used.

Selection Criteria

The process of admissions in BS-MS course is managed by the Joint Admissions Committee (JAC) entrance exam scorecard.

IISER Berhampur Integrated iPhD Admission 2024

IISER Berhampur offer iPhD programme which combines the master's and doctoral degree curricula into a single integrated programme that combines rigorous coursework and top-notch research. Students enrolling in the programme are eligible for a two-year MS fellowship and a maximum five-year PhD fellowship. Entrance exams specific to each specialisation are used to shortlist and select candidates. The institute then conducts an interview round. Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences/ Environmental Sciences/ Mathematics/ Chemistry /Physics / Medical Sciences/ Engineering from a recognised institute/ university with a minimum of 60% aggregate or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale.
• For Physical Sciences, Bachelor's degree in Physical Sciences/ Physics from a recognised institute/ university with a minimum of 60% aggregate or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale

Selection Criteria

• For Biological Sciences: JGEEBILS/ JAM (Biological Sciences or Biotechnology)
• For Chemical Sciences: JAM (Chemistry)
• For Mathematical Sciences: NBHM PhD/ JAM (Mathematics or Mathematical Statistics)
• For Physical Sciences: JEST/ JAM (Physics)

IISER Berhampur PhD Admission 2024

The five-year PhD programme at IISER Berhampur is available in four specialisations. Candidates must successfully complete a national-level exam before moving on to an institute-conducted interview phase in order to be considered for admission. As shown in the table below, several national-level admission exams are specialised:

Eligibility Criteria

• A minimum cumulative grade point average of 55 percent is required for the following degrees: ME, MTech, MBBS, MVSc, MSc (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biological Sciences, Ecological Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Psychology), or equivalent from a recognised institute/university.
• Or a BE/ BTech degree from a reputable institution or institute with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 60 percent or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale Or achieved a CGPA of at least 8.0 while completing a BS-MS dual degree at any IISER.

Selection Criteria

• Candidates who passed the NET, JRF, or similar exams as well as the UGC will be enrolled in the PhD programme in academia.
• The names of those who have been chosen will be listed on the official website and contacted for interviews.
