Parala Maharaja Engineering College, Odisha is a government-autonomous college. It is affiliated with the Government Engineering College of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Odisha. PMES is considered one of the top institutions of Southern Odisha. PMCE is accredited by NAAC with a “B+” grade and it is also approved by AITCE.

PMEC offers admission to B.Tech as its flagship program. The fee for B.Tech 2025 is INR 1.22 lakhs. To be eligible for admission, the candidate must have qualified 10+2 with PCM stream from a recognized board. The selection criteria for admission are based on the marks obtained in JEE Main and an entrance exam. Along with B.Tech, it offers other courses in UG, PG, and PhD programmes.

PMEC also offers scholarships for financially weaker students. Some of the scholarships are Biju Yuba Sasshasktikaran Yojana (INR 30,000), Gopabandhu Sikhiya Sahayata Yojana (only for single mother-child) (INR 20,000 PA), Kalia Scholarship (INR 40,000), etc.

According to the PMEC Odisha Placement Report for 2024, the highest salary package offered was INR 7 LPA, while the lowest was INR 1.92 LPA. The top recruiters were Marelli Motherson Automotive Lightning Pvt Ltd, CapitalVia Group, TPSODL, KYB Motorcycle Suspension, Yudiz Solutions, etc.
