As per NTA CUET PG 2026 result will be valid only for one academic year that is if a candidate is appearing for examination in year 2026 then his / her result will be valid for the academic year 2026-2026.

CUET PG 2026 Score Calculation Process

The common University entrance test (CUET PG) uses a standardized scoring method based on a normalized score and percentile system.Below are the details of the calculation works

Raw Score Calculation

The CUET PG exam follows the MCQ format, where +4 marks are awarded for each correct answer -1 mark for each incorrect answer and 0 marks for unattempted questions.

Raw scores are calculated using this formula =

Total Score=(4×Correct Answers)−(1×Incorrect Answers)

Normalization Process

CUET PG is conducted in multiple shifts thats why difficulty level of the examination varies. To ensure fairness NTA uses normalization formula based on percentile scores.

A statistical method called Equipercentile Method is used to normalize scores across different sessions.

CUET PG Merit List is the list of candidates who have successfully passed the CUET PG exam for admission to postgraduate programs in the participating universities of CUET. The list will comprise the candidates’

  • DU, JNU, BHU and Jamia Millia Islamia are the top universities participating in CUET PG 2026 and score above 320 is considered excellent for admission into these universities
  • Score ranging between 280 -319 is considered as a safe score providing a good chance for admission into state and central universities.

CUET PG Counselling 2026

CUET PG Counselling 2026 is conducted by the participating universities of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission to Postgraduate (PG) programmes. Candidates mentioned in the rank list are required to register themselves on the official website of participating universities.

Expected timeline for the declaration of results are the second week of April 2026 and counselling rounds are expected to begin in late April or early May 2026.

There are generally three rounds of counselling but numbers may vary depending upon number of seats left after each round.

  • The expected cut-off for DU in general category can range between 250-280, whereas for OBC category the expected score can vary from 230 to 260 and for ST/SC category it can be of score between 210 to 240
  • The expected cut-off for JNU in general category can range between 240 to 270 whereas a score between 220 to 250 is expected for OBC category and 190 to 220 is expected cut off for SC/ST category.

CUET PG Cut off 2026

The CUET PG cut off 2026 varies for each college and course. The expected CUET PG cutoff for top colleges of DU for MA, M.Sc, and M.Com is 220-250 marks (out of 300). Can I Apply for Re-evaluation Process in CUET 2026 Results?

No, A candidate cannot apply for re-evaluation process and re-checking as National Testing Agency which conducts the CUET PG exam follows a strict evaluation system using computerized checking of OMR sheets and uses Normalization Process for fair percentile calculation.

Why is Re-evaluation Not Allowed?

Re-evaluation is not allowed because OMR- Based checking is done for evaluation therefore errors in evaluation are unlikely and there is no manual intervention to maintain transparency.
