National Institute of Technology Manipur is inviting applications for PhD Admission 2025 for various disciplines. Candidates can apply online through NIT Manipur admission portal. The application fee is INR 500 for General / OBC candidates and INR 250 for SC / ST / EWS / PwD category candidates.

NIT Manipur PhD Eligibility

• Candidates must have a Master's Degree in a relevant specialization with a minimum of 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks in aggregate.
• GATE / NET qualified candidates are preferred.
• Candidates having a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology with an excellent academic record and a minimum 7.5 CGPA or 70% marks with a valid GATE / NET score are eligible for a PhD in Engineering.
• For PhD in Humanities & Social Sciences, candidates must have a Master’s Degree in an appropriate area with a minimum 6.0 CGPA or 55% of marks.
• A relaxation of 0.5 CGPA or 5% is provided for candidates belonging to the SC / ST/ OBC(NCL) / PWD categories.

NIT Manipur PhD Selection Criteria

• The selection will be based on the written test and the interview conducted by the institution.
• Written test and interviews will be conducted for non-GATE / NET candidates through offline mode.
• For GATE and NET qualified candidates the selection will be based on offline interviews only.

• Category certificate (if applicable) needs to be submitted at the time of application form submission.
• Sponsored candidates are required to submit their NOC while filling out the online application form.
• No separate admit card will be issued for the written test, the candidates must bring any standard original Photo l-Card along with its photocopy.
• Candidates reporting without any standard l-Card will not be allowed to appear for a Written Test / Selection / Interview.
• Candidates must report to the Institute at least 30 minutes before the start of the Written Test else they will not be allowed to appear for the test.
• Institute fellowship is provided only to NET / GATE qualified students.
• Candidates are required to sign a bond at the time of admission stating that in case they fail to complete the PhD successfully, they will refund 50% of the fellowship amount received from the Institute.
