The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued stern guidelines to conduct the Class 10 and 12 board examinations smoothly and ethically from February 15, 2025. These exams will be held for around 44 lakh students in 204 subjects.
The board, therefore, issued a directive to school principals, heads, and superintendents of exam centers. It emphasized that all candidates must adhere to CBSE's regulations and ethical practices. Now, schools have been instructed to inform students and parents about examination ethics and sanctions for violations.
Important Guidelines for Students
CBSE Class 10 and CBSE Class 12 has especially emphasized the following points for the students:
- Familiarize themselves with exam ethics, regulations, and punishments for unfair means (UFM).
- Do not spread or believe in any rumour that may disrupt the examination process.
- Totally avoid carrying prohibited articles to the examination hall.
Consequences of Violations
If a student is found carrying banned items like electronic gadgets or spreading rumors about the exams, the board will cancel their current and subsequent years' exams.
Permitted and Banned Items

Dress Code
- School Students: Required to wear their school uniform.
- Private Candidates: Must wear light clothing.
Exam Ethics Enforcement
The CBSE has also asked schools to:
- Instruct the students on the repercussions of using unfair means.
- Warn the students against carrying prohibited items.
- Ensure exam officials are well-versed in ethical guidelines.
It has issued a list of unfair means with corresponding penalties and published the same to check malpractice. Therefore, in addition to this, following the said instructions will ensure that CBSE examination remains the epitome of integrity and merit.
