Durgapur Institute of Advanced Technology & Management (DIATM) has invited applications for vacant B.Tech seats for the 2026-27 academic year. The first-phase application deadline is October 25, 2026. The institute will publish its first merit list on October 26 and conduct physical document verification and admission confirmation on October 26 and 27.
The notice is for students who are still looking for B.Tech seats in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering in West Bengal. DIATM says admission will be based on merit, eligibility and seat availability. Applications have to be sent with the required documents to the email address listed in the official notice.
DIATM B.Tech admission 2026: deadline and schedule
| Admission event | Date |
|---|---|
| First-phase application deadline | October 25, 2026 |
| First merit list | October 26, 2026 |
| Physical verification and admission confirmation | October 26-27, 2026 |
| Second-phase admission starts | October 28, 2026 |
| Final merit list and admission completion | October 31, 2026 |
Students should send their application and documents before the first-phase deadline rather than waiting for the merit-list date. The official notice does not describe the vacant-seat process as a separate entrance examination. It says selection is subject to merit, eligibility and the number of seats available.
Which B.Tech seats are available?
DIATM has listed 57 vacant seats across three B.Tech programmes after its earlier CAP and DCAP admissions. The seat position in the notice is as follows:
| Programme | Approved intake | Vacant seats |
|---|---|---|
| Computer Science and Engineering | 90 | 28 |
| Electrical Engineering | 30 | 8 |
| Mechanical Engineering | 30 | 21 |
The institute's 2026-27 course list also includes two-year MCA and MBA programmes, but this vacant-seat notice is specifically for the three B.Tech programmes above. Students applying through this notice should name the B.Tech course they want in their email and check the seat position before submitting documents.
Who can apply?
For B.Tech admission, DIATM's official admission page says applicants must pass Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or university with at least 45% marks in the Science group, including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The page says most approved intake is filled through the state entrance process and that JEE Main candidates may also be considered for up to 10% of the intake.
The vacancy notice asks applicants to provide a WBJEE rank card if available. It also says that selection will depend on merit, the eligibility rules and the availability of seats. Candidates should therefore include their WBJEE or JEE Main details where applicable and confirm any course-specific instruction with DIATM before sending the application.
How to apply for a vacant seat
- Read the DIATM official admission notice and confirm that your preferred B.Tech branch still has a listed vacancy.
- Prepare the required certificates and keep each file within the size and format stated in the notice.
- Write an application email to diatm@rahul.ac.in with your name, contact details, preferred B.Tech branch and entrance-exam information.
- Attach the documents and send the email before October 25, 2026. Keep the sent-mail record for reference.
- Watch the institute website and your email for the first merit list and any instruction for physical verification.
- If selected, take the original documents and the required photocopies to DIATM for verification and admission confirmation on the scheduled date.
Sending the email is only the application step. A candidate is not admitted until DIATM verifies the documents, confirms eligibility and completes the admission formalities.
Documents to attach
The official notice asks applicants to attach the following documents in the prescribed format and size:
- Aadhaar card
- Class 10 admit card and mark sheet
- Class 12 admit card and mark sheet
- Caste certificate, if applicable
- WBJEE rank card, if available
- Domicile certificate in the required West Bengal format, where applicable
- Student anti-ragging declaration
- Recent photograph and signature
DIATM lists a maximum size of 150 KB for most PDF documents, 150 KB for the photograph and 50 KB for the signature. Applicants should scan documents clearly and check every attachment before sending the email. The institute may ask for original documents during physical verification.
Fees and admission rules
On its admission page, DIATM lists the regular B.Tech course fees as INR 4.40 lakh for Computer Science and Engineering and INR 2.45 lakh each for Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The page separately shows the first-semester admission fee and semester fee. These figures are the institute's published regular-course fee structure; applicants should confirm the exact amount payable for a vacant-seat admission before making a payment.
DIATM says all listed programmes are approved by AICTE and affiliated to MAKAUT, West Bengal. The vacant-seat notice does not promise admission to every applicant. Merit, eligibility, document verification and the remaining seats will decide the outcome.
What to do next
- Choose one of the three B.Tech branches listed in the vacancy notice.
- Scan the certificates, photograph and signature within the stated file limits.
- Email the complete application to diatm@rahul.ac.in before October 25.
- Save the sent email and monitor the first merit list on October 26.
