What is the JEE Advanced 2025 Exam?

JEE Advanced Exam is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to 23 IITs for B.Tech/B.E and B.Arch programs. It is conducted for the top 2.5 lakh candidates who qualify for the JEE Main exam. JEE Advanced is conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs- Roorkee, Kharagpur Delhi, Kanpur, Bombay, Madras, and Guwahati on a rotational basis under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB).   • Performance in JEE Main 2025: Candidates must rank among the top 2,50,000 qualifiers in the B.E./B.Tech paper of JEE (Main) 2025.

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be born on or after October 1, 2000. SC, ST, and PwD candidates are eligible for a five-year age relaxation (October 1, 1995).
  • Number of Attempts: Candidates can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
  • Class XII Appearance: Candidates must have appeared for their Class XII (or equivalent) exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 2023, 2025, or 2025. Exceptions apply for withheld results based on the academic year of 2021-22.
  • Previous Admission in IITs: Candidates previously admitted to any IIT are not eligible, except those who joined preparatory courses in 2025 or who withdrew before the final seat allotment.
