The programme has been designed in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and follows a multidisciplinary approach similar to the IPM model offered by leading IIMs.

Four-Day Orientation Programme for Founding Batch
The first IPM batch went through a structured four-day induction programme covering academics, skills, career preparation, personal development and values.

Day 1: Inauguration and Campus Introduction
The orientation began with the inauguration and campus discovery activities, including a ceremonial lamp lighting ceremony. Senior LMTSM leaders addressed the students along with Nishit Jain, Senior Special Advisor (Asia) at EFMD, who attended as the Chief Guest.
Jain encouraged the students to connect their career goals with India's development and said, “Think beyond the present, set ambitious goals, and envision your contribution towards India’s growth by 2047.” He also encouraged students to enjoy their college journey while working towards their goals.
Day 2: Understanding the Academic Journey
The second day introduced students to the academic environment at LMTSM through sessions including:
- “School to B-School: Learn, Adapt, Grow”
- “Learning the LMTSM Way”
- “Leading with a Growth Mindset”
The day ended with a guided visit to Rock Garden, Chandigarh, giving students an opportunity to explore the city.
Day 3: Skills, Finance and Career Preparation
The third day focused on practical skills and preparation for future careers. Students attended sessions on:
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship
- Investment Strategies for All Stages of Life
- International exchange opportunities
- Career and placement readiness
The day concluded with a Cultural Eve, providing students with an informal setting to interact and participate in cultural activities.
Day 4: Ethics, Values and Community
The final day focused on ethics, human values and community. Sessions included “Human Values in the AI Era” and “Seniors Unplugged: Ask & Learn,” where incoming students interacted with senior students.
The four-day programme concluded with a closing ceremony.
LMTSM Director Welcomes Students and Parents
Welcoming the new students and their parents, Prof. D P Goyal, Director, LM Thapar School of Management, spoke about the changes students experience when moving from school to college.
He highlighted that greater freedom also comes with greater responsibility, ownership and accountability, describing college life as an important stage of personal and professional development.
The launch of the IPM programme marks LMTSM's entry into integrated undergraduate management education, with the 2026–2031 founding cohort beginning its five-year academic journey at the Derabassi campus.
