NIT Calicut MBA Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for different MBA Categories offered by NIT Calicut are as follows:

MBA (Regular-CAT)

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks (or CGPA 6.0/10) for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL.
  • They should have a valid CAT score conducted by IIMs in 2024.
  • The selection will be based on the CAT score, written test, and/or personal interview conducted by the institute.
  • The total number of available seats under this category is seventy-five.

MBA (Industry-Sponsored)

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks (or CGPA 6.0/10).
  • A minimum of 2 years of continuous industrial/ research experience in the relevant organizations is also mandatory.
  • The admission will be based on a written test and/or personal interview conducted by the institute.
  • The total number of available seats under this category is five.

MBA (Self-Sponsored)

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks (or CGPA 6.0/10).
  • The applicants should have any valid MBA Admission Eligibility Test Score (such as XAT, MAT/ CMAT, CAT, KMAT, or any national/state-level admission test score).
  • Final semester undergraduate students can also apply, provided their final semester marks are made available by September 30, 2025.
  • The admission will be based on a written test and/or personal interview conducted by NITC.
  • The total number of available seats under this category is ten.

Note: A relaxation of 5% Marks is provided to candidates belonging to SC / ST / PwD Categories.

Documents Required for NIT Calicut MBA Admission

Candidates must upload a scanned copy of the below-listed documents while filling out the application form:

  • Mark sheet of Class X
  • Photo ID proof
  • Mark sheet of Class XII (both original and improvement mark sheets required for candidates who appeared for improvement)
  • Grade/Mark sheets of qualifying examination for all semesters (combined to single PDF with all subjects mentioned)
  • Degree/Provisional certificate. If the qualifying degree result is awaited, a certificate of course completion with a completion date from the institute/university.
  • Degree Certificates of PG/PG Diploma/Diploma, if any
  • Certificates of work experience (if the candidate has experience for more than one year)
  • Certificates of academic and extracurricular achievements, if applicable
  • Copy of CAT admit card and scorecard (2024)
  • Candidates belonging to EWS and OBC-NCL must upload undertaking in the prescribed format from the NITC webpage
  • Candidates selected for MBA admissions under the OBC-NCL category must produce a recent OBC-NCL certificate showing Creamy Layer status based on the financial year ending March 31, 2025
  • Candidates selected for MBA admissions OPEN-EWS category must produce a recent EWS certificate based on the financial year ending March 31, 2025
  • Community Certificate
  • Certificate from Medical Board for PwD candidates, if applicable
  • Recent Photograph
  • For industry-sponsored candidates, a Sponsorship certificate signed by the Head/Competent authority of the Institution/Organization/Company in the prescribed format
