OJEE 2024 BAMS/BHMS Admissions: Key Updates

Relaxation in Percentile Criteria

  • The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) has reduced the minimum percentile criteria for NEET UG 2024 and AIAPGET 2024, extending the admission cut-off date to December 20, 2024.
  • This relaxation aims to fill vacant seats in Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) AYUSH courses.

Need for 2nd Phase Upgradation

  • OJEE 2024 has completed three rounds of web-based counselling, with only the stray vacancy round pending.
  • After physical reporting, several priority choice seats in BAMS and BHMS courses remain vacant.
  • To address this, OJEE will conduct a 2nd phase upgradation round before starting the stray vacancy counselling to ensure meritorious candidates have another chance for seat allotment.

Participation Guidelines For 2nd Phase Upgradation

  • Option Confirmation:
    • Candidates currently in the FLOAT category must confirm their participation by maintaining the FLOAT option or switching to the FREEZE option by November 20, 2024, at 5 PM.
    • Those opting for FREEZE will retain their current college seat and will not be considered for upgradation.
  • Reporting After Upgradation:
    • Candidates upgraded to a new college must report to the newly allotted institution.
    • They will not be permitted to return to their previous college under any circumstances.

Steps for Candidates

  • For FLOAT Candidates:
    • Log in to the OJEE counselling portal.
    • Confirm your FLOAT status to remain eligible for the 2nd phase upgrade.
  • For FREEZE Candidates:
    • Log in to the portal and select the FREEZE option to retain your current seat.

Impact of NEET UG 2024 Relaxation on OJEE 2024

The relaxation in percentile criteria has provided an extended opportunity for candidates to secure seats in BAMS and BHMS courses. The introduction of the 2nd phase upgradation round ensures that vacant seats are filled efficiently, benefiting both students and institutions.
