PPU Patna PhD Eligibility
- Candidates must have a Master's degree with a minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grade in the subject/allied subject from a recognized university.
- For SC/ST/EBC/OBC/PwD categories, a relaxation of 5% marks or equivalent grade is permitted.
- Candidates can pursue PhD research in the subject of their master's degree or an allied subject from a recognized university, though the PhD degree will be awarded only in the main subject.
- Candidates who have passed NET/JRF or received research grants/fellowships from DBT/ICMR/ICAR/DST/CSIR/ICHR/ICPR will be exempted from the PhD Admission Test.
- Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor on substantive UGC Pay scale posts in University/Constituent Colleges, who have completed probation and have at least two years of uninterrupted service, will be exempted. However, teachers from self-finance courses and colleges will not be exempted.
- Non-teaching employees of the university with substantive appointments for over five years, having at least 55% marks in Master's Degree and published research papers in reputed journals or UGC-identified journals, will be exempted.
- Exempted candidates must appear directly before the interview board.
PPU Patna PAT Details
- The PhD Admission Test (PAT-2025) comprises two papers worth 100 marks each:
- Paper-I: 50 MCQs on qualitative teaching and research aptitude
- Paper-II: 50 MCQs from the Core Course of the relevant PG Subject/Programme
- The complete test (both papers) will be conducted in a single sitting lasting two hours and thirty minutes.
- Paper I- 11:00 AM- 12:15 PM
- Paper II- 12:30 PM-1:45 PM
