Eligibility Criteria For Ranchi University PhD Test 2025

The following are the eligibility criteria for Ranchi University PhD admission:-

  • Master's degree (1-year after 4-year Bachelor's or 2-year after 3-year Bachelor's) with at least 55% marks.
  • 4-year Bachelor's degree with research and a minimum CGPA of 7.5.
  • M.Phil coursework with at least 55% marks.
  • Relaxation of 5% marks or 0.5 CGPA score for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/Differently-abled candidates.

The following are key points to consider before applying for the entrance test:-

  • Provisional Admission: M.Phil students whose dissertation has been evaluated and recommended for award may be provisionally admitted to the PhD program.
  • Qualifying Marks: 50% (with 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/Differently-abled candidates)
  • A merit list will be prepared based on entrance test marks, followed by an interview/viva voce
  • Weightage: 70% for the entrance test and 30% for the interview/viva voce performance
  • Test Format: OMR-based, bilingual (Hindi and English), with no negative marking
