Sarala Birla University Revises PhD Admission Schedule; Check Dates Here

Sarala Birla University revised the Admission Schedule for PhD Programme. Candidates can apply online through the SBU Ranchi admission portal before February 15, 2025. Selection will be based on the PhD Entrance Test and Interview conducted by SBU Ranchi.

SBU Ranchi PhD Eligibility

Candidates must have a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant branch from a recognized University with a minimum 55% mark or 6.0 CGPA.
Sponsored candidates must have a minimum of two years of professional work experience, along with the above-mentioned criteria. In addition, such candidates should have valid sponsorship at least for three years.
A relaxation of 5% marks is provided to candidates belonging to the reserved category.
Candidates with UGC-CSIR/DBT/BINC/ICMR-JRF/DSTINSPIRE/NET/SET/GATE or other similar national fellowships are exempted from the Entrance Test but will be required to appear in the interview.
Selection in the PhD programme will be based on the performance in an Offline Entrance Test, Previous academic record, and an Interview.
Only candidates who achieve the minimum qualifying marks in the Offline Entrance Test and meet the required total percentage threshold will be considered for the final result list as mentioned below:

Note:

The Total Programme for 3 Years is INR 3,04,000.
A limited number of University Research Fellowships (URF) with a fellowship amount of INR 25,000 per month for the first two semesters and INR 28,000 per month for the next two semesters is available depending on the performance.

Candidates must bring the below-listed original documents along with one set of photocopies of the same at the time of the interview:

Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes are eligible only if:
- They acquired such qualifications as working professionals/while in employment.
- The programmes are recognized by the DEC- UGC-AICTE or MHRD.
- They have passed the qualifying examination at the time of applying, with minimum requisite marks as given in the eligibility criteria.
- They must enclose photocopies of their work experience certificate, pass certificate and mark sheets of qualifying examination with their application.
