DAV college Jalandhar: not a good college
Likes
- The campus is quite big although the classrooms has a very old infrastructure
- There are many plants and trees in the cpus students can stay there for relaxation
Dislikes
- The classrooms of the college are very old and in summers they become like brick furnaces
- When there is rainy season water gets filled in the ground of the college
Remarks :
The reputation of this college was good and I heard about this college from many friends and relatives that's the reason I took admission in this college , but this college is not good the teachers are very egoistic and do not care for students
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because I had interest in Computer programming and wanted to make my career in this field, I chose BCA in DAV college Jalandhar but now I am regretting my decision of taking admission in this college
Internships Opportunities :
Most of the placements are for banking sector and only a few students get the placements there are no internships in the college and the salary is 300000 per annum (average) after completion of a degree from this college
Placement Experience :
There are some placements in the college most of them are for banking sectors and the placements are not very good only a few students get placements through the college , they don't provide internships
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
• Yearly fee - 46000 (Rs 17500/- per semester) 15500 tution fee 1000 registration fee 600 lab fee 400 other charges So the total fee per semester becomes 17500 for BCA only I have no information about other courses
Campus Life :
There are no fests in the college except annual day they just give holidays when there are some festivals , library is good and have a wide range of books available, Classrooms are very old and look like a third world country jail , there are no ac's in the room the fans are very old that don't even work properly, desks are very poor the desks of an average schools are better than this college
Hostel Facilities :
No i did not opted for hostel but I have the information about fees they charge around Rs 40000/- per year for hostel for a non-ac room and for an ac room they charge Rs 50000-55000/- ( approx.) the food quality of hostel is average but the food quality at college canteen is above average

Placement Experience :
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Life at cgc landran.
Placement Experience :
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.

I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.

Placement Experience :
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.

Placement Experience :
As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.

Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc

College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys,tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year

Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.

The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement.There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
