- The campus is huge. The infrastructure is top notch. The faculty is well experienced and highly motivated,the campus life at NITK is superb we have our own beach.
- The Beach is located at the southern side of the campus. The beach is the best place to visit in nitk
Dislikes
- Some of the hostels are worn down due to constant rain. It's raining constantly hance the humidity here is high resulting in constant sweeting.
- Some of the faculty in mechanical engineering cannot speak proper english. They are PhD holders and well educated people but they don't know how to teach
Remarks :
I chose NIT suratkal primarily because of my rank in jee mains.I had a benifit of state quota. The college has a very big campus (300 acres) with top-notch infrastructure. The placement stats are decent. Hence these reasons made me select this college. Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Mechanical engineering and NIT suratkal because my rank in jee main layed in the cut off region of this course. Most of the professors in mechanical engineering are PhD holders and are highly experienced.
Internships Opportunities :
No I haven't opted for placement as I'm in first year but I have heard from my senior that the intership opportunities are high in nitk. Lot of students did lots of projects and got placed in good companies
Placement Experience :
The NIT Surathkal cutoff 2023 was recorded to be the most competitive for the Computer Science and Engineering specialisation. However, the CSE cutoff declined in comparison to the past two years' data: 2302 in 2023, 1754 in 2022, and 1117 in 2021. Moreover, the highest and average package offered during the NIT Surathkal placements 2023 stood at INR 54.75 LPA and INR 18.26 LPA for the BTech.

The admission fees (jossa fees) is 5000 The tution fee is 62500 for all semesters For First semester- ( Odd semester ) Tution fees- 62500 Institute admission fees - 1280 Development fees - 2560 Security deposit - 6990 Library fees- 2560 Career development fees - 2560 Health care - 1580 Student activists - 6300 Other fees - 11600 Hostel fees- 8400 Hence total fees for first semester is 105270 For second semester- ( Even semester ) Tution fees- 62500 Other fees- 5120 Hostel fees- 8400 Hence total fees of second semester is 76020 Hence total fees for first year is ?181690 Fee waviers- Students belonging to Open ,Open- Ews & OBC whose family income is less than 1 lakh per annum will get full remission of tution fees (62500). Student belonging to Open,Open -Ews & OBC whose family income is in between 1 lakh to 5 lakhs, will get remission of 2/3 Rd of the tution fees (41667) Students belonging to sc/st/PWD category are exempted from paying tution fees(62500)
Campus Life :
The campus is huge around 300 acres. There are many clubs- cultural clubs thes clubs are open for all year students. Technical clubs are open only for 2nd,3rd and 4th year students. There are two libraries with over 2 lakh books And there is a e- library. There are two sports complex, New sport complex and old sports complex. There are two huge grounds for playing football cricket etc. There are two basketball courts and one badminton court.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are well furnished. There are total 6 boys hostel and 3 girls hostel. Some hostels are veg and some are non veg. The food quality is decent. The infrastructure of hostels are quite good. The hostel price is 8400 per semester and mess fee is 22000 per semester.

Course Curriculum Overview :
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

I got placed in a company called Glory Infinity Private Limited, there other offers from The math school infosys ultratech every student had multiple offers from company. Not A very high packages but good opportunities

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum

Eligibility for the placements is 7+ cgpa if you have higher cgpa higher the chances of you getting shortlisted for the interview and it will be easy for you Recuriters visited Cisco,Visa,Emerson,NetApp and many more for the internships and full time Highest package is 56 LPA and average package will be around 10 LPA for the computer science and Engineering for other branches it may vary

The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
