- The natural beauty of LSR is to die for. The greenery all around the campus with little squirrels hopping all around asking for food and the tidiness and cleanliness of the college makes it a truly aesthetically pleasing place. The campus dogs make it even more of a b wholesome experience, they're the sweetest creatures ever, wagging their tails and asking for belly rubs.
- The varied courses the college offers makes it a very interesting place. Every person has a different and equally valuable opinion on an issue which makes up for very intellectual and mature conversations, thus making LSR a place where you truly grow.
Dislikes
- The lack of ACs in the classrooms and also sometimes lack of space to sit due to excess of students can be a challenge, especially during summer. The classes get all humid and the fans, being old, don't work that properly. Sitting for exams in this condition becomes unbearable, with 3 hours of pure torcher which can trigger the already breeding anxiousness.
- The campus has a slow paced life, with lack of good events. This can be disappointing at times. The annual fest Tarang too isn't as good as expected.
Remarks :
I always wanted to pursue Economics Hons and LSR was my second preference for this course, the first being SRCC. For admission to any DU college you need to give the Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET) and then you have to prepare a preference list of colleges, you get allotted a college depending on how good you scored in CUET. LSR is the top college for Eco hons so getting admission in this college was a dream come true for me. The location of the college can somewhat be a negative aspect of LSR for some as the college isn't near the north nor the south campus so there is minimal inter college interaction apart from extra curriculars and competitions.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I am keenly interested in Economics and i had a clear goal of pursuing it for my graduation since the subject intrigues me a lot. Eco hons is a heavily math based course and is only recommended if you are interested in mathematics too because otherwise the course may seem hectic. In LSR, the faculty is top class, with extremely qualified professors who are there to help us out whenever we need them to. But since at the end it's a college, the environment may seem unsupportive at first because no one is here to look out for us, we need to look out for ourselves and ask for help whenever we need. The exams are not that difficult and if your goal is just passing it would seem like a breeze, but being in LSR makes you competitive and you'd surely like to score at least at par with your classmates so for that you need to study regularly. The internals hold a good weightage in the final GPA so it's recommended to score high in those tests.
Internships Opportunities :
There are plenty of paid as well as unpaid internship opportunities being circulated throughout the year by the P Cell. The time period ranges from 1 month to 3 months while the stipend ranges anywhere between 5k to 20k. Many of these internships are sales and marketing internships while a few are content writing and designing. Some are research and auditing internships as well, the roles vary depending on the department being targeted by the recruiter. Most of the opportunities are by startups but a few reputed companies like Barclays, Accenture and Kepler cannon also offer internships.
Placement Experience :
The Placement Cell of LSR is very active, with many internship opportunities coming round the year and a placement season for the 3rd years. Most of the placement opportunities are for Bcom and Economics students with the highest package of 49 LPA grabbed by and economics student last year. The average package is around 11 LPA. Some reputed recruiters are Barclays, Accenture, BCG, Kepler Cannon, Unilever etc. Many students tend to not sit for the placements and pursue higher studies instead which is also a great option.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees for the first year was rupees 20,000 and additional examination fees needs to be paid both semesters while filling the examination form which ranges from 2k to 4k depending on the kind of subjects you have and if they have a practical component. no additional fee needs to be paid and the fees remains somewhat same for all the 3 years, with some really minor ups and downs. Additionally, financial aid is available in the college and you can apply for scholarship if you have a family income of less than 3 LPA.
Campus Life :
Campus life at LSR is very serene and slow paced. You get ample time for yourself and to explore the natural beauty of the college which connects you to the nature. Making friends won't be a hassle as you'll meet plenty of like minded people. The infrastructure of the college is A lot better than many DU colleges with a spacious auditorium, 2 lush green lawns, air conditioned libraries and conference halls, 2 seminar rooms. The college has a good sports facility with a football field and a basketball court, badminton and tennis area. The college has so many societies that at some point it feels exhausting, but it's great if you're interested in extra curriculars are the college societies of LSR are pretty reputed. There are performing societies like DramSoc, Indian Music Soc, Western Music Soc, Dance Soc with Indian, western and choreo wings and the Fine Arts Society. The annual fest named Tarang is hosted in March.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel facility is not available this year due to ongoing construction work. There are plenty of PGs around the area ranging from 12k-25k depending on your specific requirements. The National Park area behind the college is a specific PG area, then there's Amar Colony, GK 1, Kailash colony area which also have many PGs.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college
Placement Experience :
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
