Is IITR good or bad
Likes
- The campus is very beautiful and also it has very good faculty who would solve your doubts.
- Campus life is also very nice including all the fests, events and much more.
Dislikes
- There are some departments and hostels which are old and need renovation and also the taste of mess food is very decent.
- There is very less shopping outlets outside the campus.
Remarks :
IIT Roorkee is one of the top 7 IITs in India this was the major reason as it has very good reputation. Admission to IITs happens on the basis of your JEE Adv score through JOSSA which happens in total 5 rounds.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I was getting this course on my JEE rank and also I had some of my interest towards mechanical side so I chose that branch. All the faculties in IIT are highly qualified and also each one of them have different teaching methods. We have 2 exams in every term and the difficulty depends upon the paper setter.
Internships Opportunities :
Various companies visit for different internship roles may it be software developers, analysts, consultants, etc. The stipend depends upon the company that varied from 4 lakhs to 50 thousand till now.
Placement Experience :
All the students can sit for placements there is no such eligibility thing. Few companies that have visited till now would be Google, Accenture, Squarepoint, etc. The highest package offered is in crores while the average package would be 20lpa. Every year around 85-90% students get placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Total fees for a year would go till 272000 which will include everything. So those students who get reservations would get full tuition fees waived or 33% of it get waived depending upon their family income.
Campus Life :
Campus life is really very great, we have our cultural fest namely THOMSO and also tech fest as COGNIZANCE also we have sports fest as SANGRAM all these are organised at a very large level. Also IIT Roorkee has a very good library where you can get any book you want.
Hostel Facilities :
The quality of food is pretty average along with its taste. Apart from this the registration process is very simple where you just have to register your detail in the supervisor office in the hostel alloted to you.

Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.

To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.

College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.

Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.

I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
