Remarks :

The obvious reason was the hype built for North Campus colleges of DU. The feedback from some of my relatives in DU was also very positive. Along with that the college was very vibrant with students coming from all over the country. The faculty here, is very experienced and supportive which helps you discuss your problems freely with them and learn many new things from them. During my time, admissions were based only on Merit basis and so no interviews, group discussions or additional written tests was needed. The best part about college the the Crowd that it attracts. Hansraj has many student societies for Sports, Dance, Music, Drama, NCC, NSS, Gaming, Debating, etc. Usually the cut-offs are high for Honours courses and you need to score good marks in CUET to get in here.

Course Curriculum Overview :

My course was BA(Hons) Philosophy and I wanted to learn a new subject after my 12th grade so I opted for this course at HRC. The course is very, very interesting and it talks about Logic, Critical Thinking and various philosophical theories of India and the World. It is a subject which opens you to many new, dynamic thoughts in your mind and makes you question many things. Philosophy has subjects like Feminism, Logic, Indian and Western Philosophies, Critical Thinking, etc.

Internships Opportunities :

No, I did not opt for any of the internships or any such opportunity. But one can definitely learn some of the required skills and go for many internships which are available throughout the years for students. 3-4 internships are offered by The University of Delhi itself during the course of one year by which you can earn well and improve your Resume at the same time.

Placement Experience :

There are placement cells in colleges which guide you through the placement process. I personally didn't participate in it so I wont be able to guide you much through this, but you can definitely get good placements and internships. I have many friends who got internships of 10k per month easily and some even got 20k per month which is very good. Talking about placements you can check the Placement data on the college website itslef for each and every college in DU which will help you decide for yourself.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tuition fee of HRC is Rs.20800 per year. Other than this, you need to pay the Examination fees for all your papers during Semesters. However there are many scholarships offered by DU and HRC which will waive off the entire years tuition fee for you if you're found eligible for it. The fees for complete 4 years would be somewhere around Rs.62000. And the Examination fees for paper would be around Rs.1500 for all papers in 1 semester.

Campus Life :

The campus life at North Campus of DU is just awesome. From Chai tapri(in Kamla Nagar and Vijay Nagar) to Big Cafes in Hudson, it offers you everything for fun. All the colleges have their own Annual Fests like Confluence(HRC), Mecca(Hindu), Tempest(Miranda) which are really grand in nature and open for all the DUites to participate. If you're in DU, you will definitely be having a great infrastructure and support of college for everything you do, from sports to debating, poetry to singing or dancing. You can learn more and more here and get a step ahead towards your goal in life. You will have access to good libraries which every college has, especially the Hansraj Library which is very nice. The classrooms of HRC are also Air-conditioned which gives a big relief during Delhi summers.

Hostel Facilities :

I rented a PG in Campus and didn't go for hostels. The rent for a decent double-sharing PG in north campus which has AC, house keeping, 3 meals a day and other basic amenities is somewhere around 14k per month. Yes I know it's expensive but it is what it is. You can also go for cheaper options there but you'll have to sacrifice some of the services for that. So the range for PGs starts from around 7k per month and goes upto 25k per month depending on Size, Amenities and occupancy of the room. In almost every PG, you have to pay the electricity bill separately depending on the consumption of the month.

Gargi Colleg , Delhi university

Placement Experience :

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

Placement Experience :

Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.

The placement cell is quite active. There are always placement and internship fairs every year and even other college students can join them. The placement recruiters are from top companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, etc. Although, not every one gets in these companies but then, there are other companies as well like Finshots, Voice Your Vichaar, etc. The average package is 3LPA and highest package is 8LPA.
