I got my addmission through JOSAA councelling with a 90 Percentile in JEE mains. The cut off for admission at that time was 80 percentile. I chose this college because of its NIRF ranking and Environment of the campus
I chose this course ( mechanical engineering ) because I wanted to. So far my experience has been very nice. The facilities such as workshops and labs are way better compared to IIT jammu. Faculty members supports every student for there growth. No matter what time it is they will always help you( speaking from my personal experience)
I have not opted for any internship in my own university but there are opportunities based on your interest in your field. Faculty will suport you in such cases and look after you.
Placement Cell here works very hard making sure that every student gets placed in there dream company. Although I am yet 1 year away from my own experience i can speak on behalf of my seniors. Some of them were not really doing great academic wise but still got placed with decent package based on there skills.

Campus of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University is the most beautiful campus i have ever seen. The environment is so clean and close to nature, every morning i wake up with a beautiful view of mountains covered in snow(during winter ofc). As of Social life we have Titiksha Fest which is basically a tech fect organised on a large scale every year by The Tech Club of our college. Besides Tech club we have various clubs such as photography club (Atelier Club), Automobile club (SAE club. Started by me and my seniors), Music club, Bhangra Club, Tourism Club etc. As of availability of books in library is good. You can find various books on Literature, Art based on your liking aside from academic related books. Sports club is a highly active club amongst other clubs. It frequently organizes sports events in which students from all branches can participate.
There are 5 boys hostels and 2 girl hostels. Quality of the hostel rooms is pretty decent. You cant expect IIT level hostels but yes hostels are good enough compared to other GFTI's (Government funded technical Institute). We have a hostel mess committee of students which looks after the quality of mess food.
For placement University conducted job fair for the students where Banks, Private sector industries HR's also visited to take interview and thoroughly conducted the interview and make selection of the deserving students.
Placements in our college are average only, not very high but not zero also. Few companies come every year for campus recruitment, like TCS, Wipro, Infosys and some local construction firms. They mostly offer roles like junior engineer, site supervisor or trainee. Highest package was around 8 LPA for IT profile, average goes between 3-4 LPA. Almost 50-60% students get placed from campus, rest students go for off campus or higher studies. Eligibility for placement is you need minimum 6.5 CGPA and no active backlogs, also they check communication skills in interviews. No big mass recruiters like in IITs, but still some opportunities are there if you prepare well. If not getting placed through campus, I plan to try off campus drives and also thinking to prepare for govt exams or maybe do M.Tech. College do conduct some training sessions and mock interviews but main thing depends on self preparation.
Here almost 95% students got placed.average salary is around 6-7 lpa.Companies like wipro, infuses, bhel visited here.my plan after degree is to do mtech from iits. Highest package is around 45 lakhs (off campus). On campus it is around 25 lpa.
I am always moved by my college’s course curriculum which is multicultural and gives students a wide range of choices. The courses are demanding but the lecturers are always ready to provide support and counsel. It is affordable to all through scholarships and fair fees.
Eligibility criteria for placement depends on the company, majorly all companies asks for minimum CGPA of 7 or 7.5. Some past major companies which comes for recruitment are amazon, sprinklr, paytm, nvidia, ICICI bank, HDFC bank, maruti suzuki etc. According to 2023 data, highest package offered was 53 LPA, average package offered was 18 LPA, minimum package was 5 LPA. Percentage of students get placed in 2023 is 85%. My plans after getting the degree is to either works on corporate or to prepare for UPSC.
quality of teaching is crucial, instructor give their best in the class and class strength is divides in two section according their enrollment number.i think fees is affordable and fees waiver for different category.
The eligibility criteria for the placements of jobs was 65% in the grade card if graduation. The recruitment process was followed by a job examination and job interview. Cipla, SKIMS were some of the recruiters that visited the university and offered almost 15 jobs. The average package offered by the recruiters was 40-70 thousands per month. And the highest package offered by the recruiters was 1.1 Lakh per month. In this recruitment process almost 40% students got placements. I got a private job in a private pharmacy company. Now, I have chosen this job as my carrier after getting the degree.
Decent placement is seen here.Students get placed from semester 7 .TCs,Adobe etc companies comes here to give opportunities for students.Highest package of last year from chemical branch is 13 lakh and median is 7.5 lakh.
There were no job or placement opportunities available and it didn’t bothered the college. The main aim of the students as well included to just pass the degree and get out of there. Faculties also discouraged about the job market scenario outside the college which alleviated the trouble.
Previously there was 100% on campus placement in university but now it's only somewhat 70%. Companies come for placement also they select students but most of time it sells based company not a product based company also they offer quit low packages. Most of students try off Campus Placement where they get some good offers. Average package is about 5-7 lakh
