Review of SSM college
Remarks :
One of the factors was that I qualified the state entrance exam.The college was also affiliated with Kashmir University and was in my hometown. The course fee was also affordable at that time.I talked to some seniors and they gave a positive feedback about their experience.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course took more time to complete than actual deadline. Wasted around extra 6 months to get my degree. The college and parent Kashmir University was in constant conflict which directly impacted the students. Teachers were very inexperienced. Some of them were even recent pass outs.
Internships Opportunities :
I had interned at Ramkay construction who constructed NH44 highway. The experience was remarkable. They had state of the art facilities that gave a little depth to our knowledge. We even completed our major project with them.
Placement Experience :
There were no job or placement opportunities available and it didn’t bothered the college. The main aim of the students as well included to just pass the degree and get out of there. Faculties also discouraged about the job market scenario outside the college which alleviated the trouble.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fee structure was one of the reasons that I had opted for this college. Course fee including bus fee was around 2 lakhs for the whole 4 years. Financial assistance was also available for eligible students in the form of scholarships which covered the tuition fees.
Campus Life :
Sonzal at the time was the feast conducted annually . It was a quite happening event. Apart from that it was not that much great. I took initiative in my 2nd year to conduct events related to debates and all. It was alright. Talking of hostel, it had terrible service and food. During winters you could freeze due to lack of heating facilities.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel was not good. Infrastructure was old and required some repairs. Food was terrible, you could hardly eat anything. Non veg was served 2 days but was not good.All the problems increased during winters as there was hardly any heating facilities. For showers you had to wake up around 1 am as hot water was available at that time only.
Interview Experience :
At that time the admission for the college was through Common Entrance Test. Every student had to apply and qualify the examination to get admission. The examination was based on 12 th class syllabus. I followed a basic strategy to crack the exam of completing the syllabus and giving previous year mocks.

For placement University conducted job fair for the students where Banks, Private sector industries HR's also visited to take interview and thoroughly conducted the interview and make selection of the deserving students.

Placement Experience :
Placements in our college are average only, not very high but not zero also. Few companies come every year for campus recruitment, like TCS, Wipro, Infosys and some local construction firms. They mostly offer roles like junior engineer, site supervisor or trainee. Highest package was around 8 LPA for IT profile, average goes between 3-4 LPA. Almost 50-60% students get placed from campus, rest students go for off campus or higher studies. Eligibility for placement is you need minimum 6.5 CGPA and no active backlogs, also they check communication skills in interviews. No big mass recruiters like in IITs, but still some opportunities are there if you prepare well. If not getting placed through campus, I plan to try off campus drives and also thinking to prepare for govt exams or maybe do M.Tech. College do conduct some training sessions and mock interviews but main thing depends on self preparation.

Placement Experience :
Here almost 95% students got placed.average salary is around 6-7 lpa.Companies like wipro,infuses,bhel visited here.my plan after degree is to do mtech from iits. Highest package is around 45 lakhs (off campus). On campus it is around 25 lpa.

I am always moved by my college’s course curriculum which is multicultural and gives students a wide range of choices. The courses are demanding but the lecturers are always ready to provide support and counsel. It is affordable to all through scholarships and fair fees.
Placement and college life at IIT Jammu
Placement Experience :
Eligibility criteria for placement depends on the company, majorly all companies asks for minimum CGPA of 7 or 7.5. Some past major companies which comes for recruitment are amazon, sprinklr, paytm, nvidia, ICICI bank, HDFC bank, maruti suzuki etc. According to 2023 data, highest package offered was 53 LPA, average package offered was 18 LPA, minimum package was 5 LPA. Percentage of students get placed in 2023 is 85%. My plans after getting the degree is to either works on corporate or to prepare for UPSC.

quality of teaching is crucial, instructor give their best in the class and class strength is divides in two section according their enrollment number.i think fees is affordable and fees waiver for different category.
My University Life In The University of Kashmir.
Placement Experience :
The eligibility criteria for the placements of jobs was 65% in the grade card if graduation. The recruitment process was followed by a job examination and job interview. Cipla, SKIMS were some of the recruiters that visited the university and offered almost 15 jobs. The average package offered by the recruiters was 40-70 thousands per month. And the highest package offered by the recruiters was 1.1 Lakh per month. In this recruitment process almost 40% students got placements. I got a private job in a private pharmacy company. Now, I have chosen this job as my carrier after getting the degree.

Decent placement is seen here.Students get placed from semester 7 .TCs,Adobe etc companies comes here to give opportunities for students.Highest package of last year from chemical branch is 13 lakh and median is 7.5 lakh.

Previously there was 100% on campus placement in university but now it's only somewhat 70%. Companies come for placement also they select students but most of time it sells based company not a product based company also they offer quit low packages. Most of students try off Campus Placement where they get some good offers. Average package is about 5-7 lakh
