After completing my class 12th, I appeared in the JKCET examination, and after the result was declared I appeared in the counseling process and I got a seat in SSM College of Engineering. The admission process includes appearing in the entrance exam and then appearing in counseling process. The admissions to the college mostly start in April. If you can't go outside for further studies after 12th, then this college is good for you. If your preference is other than location like academics, facilities, etc. then you must choose any other college. You can also check reviews from other websites like Collegedunia.com to know more about the college.
There is no particular reason for choosing the course. I got the course by merit. In this college, the faculty-student ratio is 1:10. Faculty of the college are well qualified. The minimum qualification for the faculty is a master's degree. Teaching method is also good like 'teacher explaining on the board.
Students are offered internship opportunities by various govt. and private companies. However, there is no stipend offered during the internship. In turn, students need to pay the company for offering internships.
There are no jobs and placements offered in the college. Last year a few companies visited the college but the placements offered were very less. Students need to find jobs by themselves after completing the college. Students can either join any private company or prepare for other government jobs like JE, Public services, etc.
There is no fee hike policy released by the authority. The fee hike is sudden and can be even 40%. Scholarships are available here. Students can apply for various scholarships such as NSP, etc. Unfortunately, there are no jobs available on campus. So, there is no stipend available.
Life at the campus is good. There are various fests conduct in the college such as science day, engineers day, and so on. Students are also offered opportunity to take part in extracurricular activities and sports such as cricket, football, basketball, badminton, etc. All these fests and other activities are organised by a group called Dean Students Welfare. In the library, there are books available for every course offered in the college. Students can issue up to 2 books from the library. Journals and news papers are also available in the library.
Currently, there are offered rooms only and students need to prepare food for themselves. They also offered meals before but the meals were not up to the mark. Students need to visit the hostel office to register themselves. The fee charged for a hostel room per month per student is INR 900.
After completing class 12th, students need to appear in an entrance exam like CUET. After the result of the entrance exam is released, students will be asked to appear in the counseling process. During the counseling process, students can prefer this college and will be allotted a seat in this college. There is no GD round or interview held for admission to the college.
For placement University conducted job fair for the students where Banks, Private sector industries HR's also visited to take interview and thoroughly conducted the interview and make selection of the deserving students.
Placements in our college are average only, not very high but not zero also. Few companies come every year for campus recruitment, like TCS, Wipro, Infosys and some local construction firms. They mostly offer roles like junior engineer, site supervisor or trainee. Highest package was around 8 LPA for IT profile, average goes between 3-4 LPA. Almost 50-60% students get placed from campus, rest students go for off campus or higher studies. Eligibility for placement is you need minimum 6.5 CGPA and no active backlogs, also they check communication skills in interviews. No big mass recruiters like in IITs, but still some opportunities are there if you prepare well. If not getting placed through campus, I plan to try off campus drives and also thinking to prepare for govt exams or maybe do M.Tech. College do conduct some training sessions and mock interviews but main thing depends on self preparation.
Here almost 95% students got placed.average salary is around 6-7 lpa.Companies like wipro, infuses, bhel visited here.my plan after degree is to do mtech from iits. Highest package is around 45 lakhs (off campus). On campus it is around 25 lpa.
I am always moved by my college’s course curriculum which is multicultural and gives students a wide range of choices. The courses are demanding but the lecturers are always ready to provide support and counsel. It is affordable to all through scholarships and fair fees.
Eligibility criteria for placement depends on the company, majorly all companies asks for minimum CGPA of 7 or 7.5. Some past major companies which comes for recruitment are amazon, sprinklr, paytm, nvidia, ICICI bank, HDFC bank, maruti suzuki etc. According to 2023 data, highest package offered was 53 LPA, average package offered was 18 LPA, minimum package was 5 LPA. Percentage of students get placed in 2023 is 85%. My plans after getting the degree is to either works on corporate or to prepare for UPSC.
quality of teaching is crucial, instructor give their best in the class and class strength is divides in two section according their enrollment number.i think fees is affordable and fees waiver for different category.
The eligibility criteria for the placements of jobs was 65% in the grade card if graduation. The recruitment process was followed by a job examination and job interview. Cipla, SKIMS were some of the recruiters that visited the university and offered almost 15 jobs. The average package offered by the recruiters was 40-70 thousands per month. And the highest package offered by the recruiters was 1.1 Lakh per month. In this recruitment process almost 40% students got placements. I got a private job in a private pharmacy company. Now, I have chosen this job as my carrier after getting the degree.
Decent placement is seen here.Students get placed from semester 7 .TCs,Adobe etc companies comes here to give opportunities for students.Highest package of last year from chemical branch is 13 lakh and median is 7.5 lakh.
There were no job or placement opportunities available and it didn’t bothered the college. The main aim of the students as well included to just pass the degree and get out of there. Faculties also discouraged about the job market scenario outside the college which alleviated the trouble.
Previously there was 100% on campus placement in university but now it's only somewhat 70%. Companies come for placement also they select students but most of time it sells based company not a product based company also they offer quit low packages. Most of students try off Campus Placement where they get some good offers. Average package is about 5-7 lakh
