My experience at UPES
Remarks :
UPES is rated as the top college in Uttarakhand, it is also in top 50 list for business related courses. There weren't any group discussion held there as only one on one interview for admission, interview was very easy the interviewer only asks about your favorite sports and books then asks questions related to that also they would ask you what's your favourite subject and ask questions related to it. I won't say that there is anything bad in our college it was really good. Only con would be that they really do great dj nights, events, etc.
Course Curriculum Overview :
There were only two specialisation to choose first was Banking and the second one was E-commerce. I chose as i wanted to pursue a career in digital marketing. Courses that was offered was very relevant to our specialisation, faculties there are highly qualified they teach the courses very efficiently you can understand almost anything very easily.
Internships Opportunities :
Our college provides mandatory social internship for first year student either you can get the internship through college or get it yourself. For second year students paid internships are offered to every students.
Placement Experience :
Placements overall is great many big comapnies like Dell, Kpmg, Deloitte and many more come to our college, but specifically for B.com it is not that great as the job opportunites are less for our course compared to other departments. Also we weren't give access to the job portal of our college but every other department students were offered access to it.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For the first academic year the fee was around Rs 1,20,000. Second year it was around Rs 1,40,000. Third year it was around 1,60,000. College also charges Rs 20,000 as security deposit which they refund after completion of your course.
Campus Life :
There are various number of clubs you can join. Our library is also good it's very big you can get any book you can think of. Sports isn't a really big thing there but they do conduct various sports event which you can take part in if you ae interested. Campus life is great, if you want my personal advice then you should socialise in the first semseter only to make friends, as the time passes by most people are split into groups and you'll be left out all alone.
Hostel Facilities :
I didnt't opt for college hostel but you can find flats and pgs for cheaper than hostel. The hostel mess is okayish not that good my friends who stayed there told that food is like normal not good not great just normal.

Placement Experience :
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.

the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
Underrated university for pursuing Management courses
Placement Experience :
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.

College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.

I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.

Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.

I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.

Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.

I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
