From the grades i got, i had to be considerate and therefore this was the best college i could get. I got this from csab round which is basically a spot round. I didnt have any group discussion. You get this college by getting a jee mains rank and through josaa counselling ( 6 rounds) . After that if seats are left.. They are placed in csab counselling(2 rounds). cutoff went 98.75 percentile last year.
When it comes to academics, i think this college has everything. The faculties are very helpful and support you if you're bad at studying but only if you approach them. The course and curriculum prepares you for the branch you're studying in and helps you in interviews as well. All the faculties are phd holders and have amazing knowledge in respective fields. Exams are held semester wise, each semester has a mid-semester and an end-semester examination. And quizzes are scheduled in between them. Difficulties depends on faculties and on level of preperation.. but overall i feel academics are good in this college as compared to others.
Intersnhips drives start in the 3rd year and there is lot of scope for good opportunities. A lot of people try off campus to get a better placement and internship offer. Arista networks took a lot os students for internships with 50k stipend mostly.
Placements are again in the improving phase after covid.. It'll be a lot better in the future years but one thing is its better than most iiits. A lot of people get placed off campus too. Visited recruiters recently were arista network and mac and a lot more. internship drive starts in the third year odd semester and companies come with the goal of taking students, so its a good thing. around 70% people got placed last year.. most of the students plan for higher studies too.
Every semester fees are Rs. 1,67,250 /- which includes Mess and hostel charges. Tuition fees are 137500, hostel fees are 13750, mess charges are 16000. Caution fees are 5k rupees and are returnable and is to be paid only once. The one thing is if you are on an academic leave, mess charges which are counted per day are given back to you. There is no reservation in our college and fees are same for everyone. About scholarships, a lot of them are offered and also students can take student loans from banks associated with our college. Fees have been increased from last year for no reason.
Campus life is starting to get more fun. This college started in 2016 and is still in its growing phase, we have 19 clubs in total, 9 cultural, 3 technical, 2 sports, other welfare. Yuvaan - annual cultural fest This is the biggest fest our college organises, there are a lot of cultural events and competitions held during this fest. Held in March. Entropy - (annual technical fest ) This fest has its own sets of events which includes hackathons, coding events like blind coding cyber hunts and a lot of things. This fest is held in October end or november start. About the fests - they are not top notch because the budget issue our college faces, the sponsors dont yet know about the popularity of this college and hesitate to sponsor. Library is very small, it has all the books you'd want for studying but it can only accommodate 200 people which is the upper bound. It doesn't feel like a library at all. There is a ground in our campus where cricket football and volleyball is played.
Hostel life is just okay. There are a lot of bad things about this hostel, There were times there was no drinking water available to us an entire night which is the basic amenity. Food is not best again but compared to other colleges is good. The oil used it not that good and the pooris are the worst. For breakfast poha, pav bhaji, bread butter, uttapam, pasta, poori bhaji, chole bhature and dosa. For lunch there is aloo, rajma, chhole, dal rice, dal makhani, chaas. For dinner non veg is served every day which has fish eggs and chicken and respective days. Registration is done during admission process and is to be renewed every semester.
Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .
While the college does not guarantee 100% corporate placement, it facilitates campus interviews and internships. Companies like Amazon, Flipkart, and Tata have rec recruited or offered internships to a percentage of students.
There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My plans after my degree is to get a job in electronic domain while also focusing on my photography and editing Passion Check my work on insta sodaa.edits
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.
There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA
The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low. That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled. And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.
I forever had a dream of starting a business by myself as I come from a business background I also wanted to help my father in his work , I wanted to grow my father's business by just putting technical efforts so this is the reason I chooses commerce Teachers are of very friendly nature and helpful If you attend regular college you won't face any difficulties in exams
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.
You must get more than 7 CGPA to sit in the placement. TCS, L&T, Jacobs etc and the highest package is around 21 LPA around 15% are placed every year.Iwill be doing PHd in IIT after getting my degree.
I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
