Admission here is similar as any other NIT. You have to clear JEE Mains and apply for Jossa counselling. There is no interview or group discussion round for qualification. For cutoff you can check Jossa website.
Course Curriculum here is similar to any other NITs. Important courses are available, so you can opt any course of you interest. Faculties here all Associate professor or Assistant professor. Some faculties are good in teaching but some are not.(As in any other college).
Internships opportunities are there for final year students. For CSE and ECE branch companies like Optym and Samsung R&D visit for internship offers. For other branches there are no internship offers(for at least past 3-4 years no internship offers for other branches).
Placements are decent for CSE students. Good number of companies visit in college for CSE and ECE branch. For other branches placements are not good. If you have interest in your core branch (other than CSE) than you should prepare for Gate.
The full tuition fee is 70k/semester for general and obc students. But you can get tuition fee remission according to you family income certificate. If your family income is less than 1 lakh/year, you will get 100% remission in tuition fee(means 0 tuition fee). If your family income is 1 lakh to 5 lakh per year you get 2/3rd of you fees back (you have to pay one third fee of total tuition fee). If your family income is more than 5 lacs per year you have to pay full tuition fee. Other charges are mess fee which is around 22k per semester and hostel fee is around 8k per semester. Other charges like seat rent, internet, book bank, exam fee is 10k per semester. So total fee other than tuition fee is 40k per semester and tuition fee depends on your family income. Also tuition for SC and ST student is 0.
The worst thing here is there is no permanent campus (like any other NIT). So campus life is very poor here. Clubs are there in college like Technical club, Cultural and Fine arts club, sports club, etc. There are 2-3 fests in a year.
Mess food is very bad for real. Many days in a week we have to eat in nearby cafe or dhabha. Also there is only veg food in mess. Even egg is not in the menu. Hostels are the only good thing in the campus. Hostel rooms are big enough and proper supply of water and electricity is present in hostel. Internet is also provided in hostel (via LAN cables speed is upto 200 mpbs).
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.
the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.
College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.
I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.
Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.
I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.
Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.
I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
There are good placement and job opportunities are there in off campus placement because there are many sites whivh provide job and internships like inteshala and there are many other platforms to find the job and internships
