The fact the this is one of the best AIIMS after AIIMS delhi with a NIRF ranking of 14 made me chose the college. Situated at the bank of river Ganga the college offers some breathtaking views throughout the year. The selection process is fairly straight forward and doesn't involve any interviews. NEET ug exam is the only selection criteria with a cut off of AIR ~ 1000 for UR category, AIR ~ 2000 for OBC, AIR ~ 7000 for SC, and AIR ~ 15000 for ST. One of the big drawbacks of the college is that it is situated in a small town which doesn't offer the same facilities of a metropolitan city otherwise academics is top noch with very advance labs and skill centers available.
MBBS offers job security and an opportunity to grow further as a doctor, that is why I chose the course. Academics here is top notch with faculty from top medical institutes. Faculty specializing in all the specialties and super-specialties teach you throughout the 5.5 years. Clinical postings in all the departments help you grow as a clinician. The only drawback is that there is a lot of scut work that you have to do during the internship.
Yes I completed international internships in usa in very big universities, but they were all non funded. There are however paid research opportunities in form of ICMR projects available for students.
There is no such concept of on campus placement for medical feild, but after you get your degree and state license you can get a job as junior resident on campus or at any other hospital throughout the country. You can also join as a medical officer in various government hospitals, but most students opt for a postgraduate course after completing MBBS
The total fee was Rs 5438 for the full course paid once and was the same for everyone. No additional fee for the dorm/hostel. No yearly fee. Students paid Rs 500/Subject for the professional examination for a total of 19 subjects including the practical. No scholarships or financial aid from the institute, but you could avail scholarships through other means such as if your parents are government employees etc.
The hospital infrastructure is very decent with new buildings being constructed. The central library is world class with quiet a big inventory of physical books and the library subscribes to almost all the major journals and a lot of clinical resources. Clubs are not very active, but there are numerous events that make up for the inactivity of the clubs. The annual intra-college fest is called Invicta with numerous events including, arts, sports, informals etc and lasts 4 days. The annual inter- college fest pyrexia lasts 5 days and has a foot fall of around 7000 students. Numerous events are conducted during the day and big stars and bands perform during the night on all the 5 days. Apart from the formal events and clubs students can find other students with same interests and can enjoy their hobbies
On campus hostel is provided free of cost for the students. Girls Hostel is newly constructed with private rooms and attached bathroom. Boys hostels are old and have common bathrooms. Mess is separate and run by students you can pay by monthly or day by day basis. Food quality is not the best, but there are numerous other options available.
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.
the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.
College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.
I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.
Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.
I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.
Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.
I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
There are good placement and job opportunities are there in off campus placement because there are many sites whivh provide job and internships like inteshala and there are many other platforms to find the job and internships
