- The rules and regulations for going out of the gate for hostelers
- Presence of monkey in the campus is quite disturbing
Remarks :
I choose this college for nursing as it is a very esteemed college in North East with 100% placement for each and every student. They use to take a online interview of the students in which a few questions are asked to us. The admission process is very simple we can do it online through their website and also we can contact them in their number which is available in the website and they will help us. For admission we need our class 10 marksheet,class 12 marksheet, migration certificate, TC certificate, passport photos.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is well structured which helps the teachers and the students to complete the course smoothly throughout the year. The session is divided into theory block and practical block as we used to have hospital duty since 1st year. The syllabus is completed during the theory block. All the faculties are Msc passed(lecturer), assistant professor, associate professor etc . We used to have a total of 4 exams in the year which includes two sessional exam of 50marks(25 is the passing marks), one pre-university exam of 75 marks (37.5 is the passing marks) and the University exam of 75marks (37.5 is the passing marks).
Internships Opportunities :
Yes I did my 6months intership from Downtown hospital,our own parents hospital. There we worked as student nurses and got to learn many things that we will be needed to do as a staff nurse later on. We have also given internship exam after the end of our internship in which 100questions(MCQ) related to hospital where asked and the passing marks was 50(which is 50% of the total marks).
Placement Experience :
Placements are done for each and every student after the completion of their internship. Various companies used to come and take interviews of all the students and select them on the basis of the interview. One must not have any backlog in order to sit in the interview. Recruiters such as Apollo, Neotia, Asian Heart Institute, Holy family hospital,Nemcare etc use to come for the nursing students.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The year wise fees that we pay is 1,80,000 , we pay it in a form of 90,000(each semester). The fees includes the money for tuition fees,hostel fees and mess fees,lab fees and other compulsory charges. The admission fees is 1,20,000. The registration fees of the course is 25,000. The administration fees of the course is 15,000. The security money that we have to deposit is 10,000. They don't take the money separately it's paid all together in the semester fees. The fees structure is different for GNM nursing and ANM nursing. Scholarships are available for students belonging from SC/ST/OBC/minority caste. For extra curricular activities such as swimming,gym, badminton etc they use to take charges but for nursing it's free as they are hosteler.
Campus Life :
The campus is very beautiful with an ambiance of nature surrounding us. The college used to conduct an annual fest namely "ATTITUDE" which includes dance competition, singing competition, decoration competition, rapping competition, and the mostly awaited choosing of "Mr and Mrs ATTITUDE" through a fashion show. In attitude they use to invite singer(in the pass four years singer Mohammad Irfan,Stebben ben,Darshan Raval,Monali Thakur etc have come)and conduct a DJ night. In terms of sports we have swimming with a well facilitated swimming pool, football, basketball, badminton,tennis,footsal etc. We also have different clubs such as photography club,writing club, dancing club,singing club,drama club etc. We also have library , one is the central library with the availability of all kinds of book and one departmental library which every department have holding books of the particular subjects.

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.
