The main reason that made choose this college was it being a fashion college being situated very near to Mumbai:The city of dreams and home to many fashion brands and film industry. Mumbai is a hub for fashion lovers and creators, thus I chose to opt for this college expecting more exposure than any other campus of NIFT.
The course curriculum and faculty is the best and most knowledgeable at NIFT Mumbai with the most industry connections. The jury exams happen every semester wise and some courses also have written exams. Though NIFT is a bit hectic, but the things you'll learn here would prepare you for the real industry and cruel outer world.
The yearly fees depend aa the fees is charged semester wise and is different for every semester but on an average fees per year ranges between 3-3.5 lakh. The college does provide scholarship to needy students but the case has to be very genuine as there is very strict procedure followed for the assigning one.
There are many different clubs and societies in the campus that cater to the interests, hobbies and talents of the students. But internal politics persist a lot among the council members to give fair chance to everyone to participate in every event. The people at NIFT though act being very chill But no one comes to help you out when you're in need, you have to be your savior always. Warning: Beware of two faced people who act different on your face and behind your back. The resource centre (library) at NIFT has an amazing collection of fashion magazines and books, novels, other informatory books as well. Overall the campus life is quite good without the toxic people around.
The girl's hostel at NIFT Mumbai is pretty huge with 10 floors in it. The hostel provides both AC and non AC rooms and rates for the hostel differs accordingly. The mess food is okayish. The rooms are spacious and facilities at the hostel are quite nice.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.
