I wanted to do something related to apparel and textiles and I got to know about this course through the official website of NIFT. Yes for admission in BFTech, there is a written exam, GAT including 150 questions, and for BDes, there are 3 parts: GAT, CAT, and situation test.
Opt for this course if you have an interest related to mass production, apparel, textile, and fashion management. The faculty in NIFT is highly qualified and have years of experience in the industry which helps you make contacts as well. We have midterms, end terms, and final jury and the difficulty level is not that much if you do assignments nicely. The fee hike is around 10 percent every year. Name of scholarship: Sarthak
I'm in 2nd year currently so we haven't done any internship yet but at the end of 4th semester, there is a compulsory textile internship that we have to do in any textile industry. Also, we have a graduation project for 6 months in 4th year.
You can apply for companies in your 4th year. There are several recruiters like Arvind Fashion, Raymonds, Shahi Exports, etc. Avg package is around 5-8 lakhs. Almost 100 percent of students get placed. My plan after the degree is to go into the textile business.
Campus life is very lively. We have two college fests spectrum and converge. Converge happens around December every year and spectrum in March. We have various clubs like cultural club, ESSC club, sports club, film club, photography club etc. Hostel food is decent. It's not that good and not too bad. The registration process for the hostel is through the Nift official website only. It is on a first come first service basis.
The placements & job opportunities in the campus placements is good in our college like honestly it is good and also it is reason for students to take admission because there are many company coming to college. The average package is around i will say is 4.5lpa of all branches and here ENTC and MECHANICAL branch have more than 96% placement rate The highest package is of 22lpa which was from CS. The ground reality the percentage of students placed from this college is around 70% like the core branches students have higher placement rates and technincal branches placement rate is of around 70%-80% the core branches students also gets placed in tech. The main recruiters are TCS,ESDS,WIPRO,TECH MAHINDRA,INFOSYS,L&T and more. NVIDIA was also there but last year they banned the college because some students cheated in online interview.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
The placements are nice. Majorly Hafiz contractor firm take students. But a lot of firms do come fruit placement. Take interview and hire students. Last year a lot of students got placements based on their portfolios and skills And got salaries ranging from 2,50,000-6,00,000 Annually.
The placement and job opportunities in college is good the MOU's signed by company are good almost 40-50% of college gets placement remaining go for off campus placements there are companies like TCS , Accenture etc
Psychology as a field is highly recognized and growing sector after the lockdown, people are more focused on mental health, thus bhavans was the best option as they have Psychology department set for almost 20years which makes them more experienced.
