Remarks :

After appearing for MHT-CET I got allocated a seat here, post allocation the only thing I went through was document verification and they ask you to submit your original documents to college, which they return after your 4 year degree

Course Curriculum Overview :

The college was affiliated to Mumbai University while I was studying, so the textual curriculum was a bit verbose and less practical, but a few of the faculties tried their best to make it practical and updated. Apart from that student bodies like IEEE, IETE etc used to conduct weekly workshop on relevant skills that made students industry ready. We used to follow a setup where there were 2 Unit Tests and one Final Semester(university led) and before final semesters we used to have practical exams and viva where an external faculty would evaluate the performance. Unit Tests were medium to difficult for some subjects and final semesters were easy to difficult as most of the questions used to come from past year papers

Internships Opportunities :

I got placed as a business analyst in my final year at Sciative Solutions. And had completed 2 internships offered by the EXTC department in my 3rd year, it was an unpaid internship where we were trained and asked to make a project for department

Placement Experience :

Eligibility criteria is such that one shouldn’t have any backlogs/KTs and must have payed the fees for 6 semesters to be able to sit for placements, the cgpa cutoff criteria is 6.75 minimum but varies company to company. They have recruiters like TCS, Infosys, LTI, Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, Jio, Wipro, Byjus and many more startups also coming in. The mass recruiters used to roll out offer letters to 50-60 students( data from 2022) and placement rate used to be 80-90 percent

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There weren’t any differences between fees for Gujrati minority students, and General students, but they had hefty concessions for TWS (Tuition Fee Wavier Scheme) students and even SC/ST students. They had scholarship schemes for Gujurati Minority students but that was subjected to your annual family income

Campus Life :

SAKEC didn’t have a campus, it was merely a 7 storey building with a short lawn and canteen, but trust me that was actually nice as you could interact with more people and there were enough fun spaces to chill in college Library, Gymkhana, Gymnasium, Girls Common Room (for girls lol), Auditorium. The annual fest was called Pratishtha and that used to be the best 14 days of college if you are an attendee but best 2 months if you were from organising committee, unlike some other colleges our’s didn’t had any restrictions on participation for First Year and Final Year students. I myself was the General Secretary of my student council in my final year. Apart from the student council, there were many other student bodies who used to conduct events on a weekly/monthly basis, I would recommend joining IEEE. Also the second best part was the official Industrial Visit, it was super fun and a great networking opportunity for freshers with the seniors.

Hostel Facilities :

They didn’t provide hostel facilities, but there were many private hostel facilities around Ghatkopar, Chembur BARC area etc. college canteen had delicious food at very affordable price. I was from Mumbai, so I used to travel to Chembur for my college daily through Train, the building is 10 minutes walking from Govandi station

An industry focused learning experience

Placement Experience :

I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
