Jamia Millia Islamia is a central university and there is a very competitive test to get admission in the University. There are total 2 batches each consisting of 60 students which makes a total of 120 students. There is a test in which around 15,000 students appear to get admission in 120 seats. So it can be concluded that the admission process is quite tough. The reason for me to choose this college is because of its legacy and the opportunities that it provides. Being located in Delhi it provides access to the courts ranging from District courts to the Supreme Court and other exposures as well. The location of Jamia is a plus point as it provides with various exposures and opens doors to n number of opportunities.
The faculty members are highly qualified, with most holding doctoral degrees and possessing significant experience in academia and legal practice. Their teaching methods blend lectures, caselaw analysis, and interactive discussions, making learning engaging and practical. Term exams are conducted semester wise and there are total 10 semesters, maintaining academic discipline, and the difficulty level is moderate, requiring conceptual clarity and analytical skills.
The students at the Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia opts for internship from the very first year. The college being located in the heart of Delhi provides access to all the courts, law firms, government offices, Chambers of various advocates and NGOs. The fact that the students opts for internship from the very beginning of their law school helps them in acquiring skills which is needed in legal field.
The college has a dedicated internship and placement cell which makes sure that the students are not left without internship opportunities in their semester breaks. The placement cell also makes sure that the students who are willing to get a job after completing the course succeeds in getting placed. However a lot of students opt for either higher studies or pursue Judiciary after completing their degree.
The registration fee at the time of admission is a minimal fee of 200 rupees. The annual fee of the course is around 10,000 rupees and the course is of 5 years so the accumulated total fee payable comes up to around 50,000 rupees. This fee is inclusive of all the charges and there is no hidden fee beyond this. Once you get admission you will have to pay this fee only through out the course even if the fee increses for fresh admission. There is no concession for category admissions. Everyone has to bear the same fees. Jamia Millia Islamia being a central university and keeping in mind that the fee which it charges is very minimal, it should not be a concern to pay this fee.
The campus life at Jamia Millia Islamia is beautiful. Jamia, being a central university, has a very large and beautiful campus. It has beautiful lawns, sports complex, library, cafeterias, auditoriums etcetera. The college has a dedicated library of its own which has any and every book a law student needs. The college conducts freshers, farewell and alumni meet every year apart from other fests. The university conducts various sports competition every year among the students of the college and that of the university. It also provides students with the option to participate in sports activities of different colleges and universities. The college has different clubs which is run and managed by the students with the help of the faculty. The clubs includes but not limited to sports club, ADR cell, internship and placement cell.
The university provides hostel facility as well. The hostel has 2-3 seater rooms which are spacious and comfortable at the same time. Each student has their own saperate study table and cupboard provided by the university. The hostel has various facilities including playgrounds, gym etcetera. The food quality is really amazing considering the point that you are living in a hostel. There are saperate hostels for girls and boys. Considering the fee structure of the hostel, it can be said that the facilities which the hostel provides is really amazing.

I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
