Likes
- The infrastructure is quite nice and fresh .The university is more focused on preserving nature so no unnecessary buildings or anything.
- Campus life is nice. The faculty is also quite nice and educated .
Dislikes
- Drinking water problem as the filter is not cleaned consistently. Many departments have ac but we don't have an Ac which is not a very big problem.
- Campus life can also be tough as there are different kinds of people from different regions are present.So sometimes the language barrier and other things effects.
Remarks :
As the university was nearest to my hometown me and my parents selected this. Yes ,I have given a written test which is common entrance test known as Cuet . The university is very good in preserving nature and it's resources you will be able to see different plants, flowers ,etc. The admission process is based on the marks of cuet ,the cut off is different for maybe different categories. I have studied 12th subjects for the examination such as biology, chemistry, physics and some general aspects.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As I was from science background, medicine and study of medicine was always an interesting subjects for me, i choosed this course. The faculty is highly qualified as well as very good at what they are doing. The teachers first give us lecture about the topic also provides ppts and notes. There are also practical classes for many subjects. Difficulty level is quite hard as we have to give frequent exams two sessionals before every final.
Internships Opportunities :
The intership period of a student is offered during 3rd year where students go to different companies and they work as intern for many days or weeks even for a month .As one of sister got the opportunity this year .
Placement Experience :
As I am a 2nd year student I didn't know about placements as it is probably offered to the 4th year students.Many seniors have got placements and many good platforms and probably this year seniors will get this opportunity too.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I am a student of 4th semester till now I have paid two times . The first time the fees was 44,000 per year then for 2nd year I paid around 41,000 but for this year newly joined students it was around 66,000. Registration fees toh have to pay for the examination such as cuet and if you are getting a decent marks then you will be able to apply to any department and the fee structure probably depends on the department.The yearly fees covers all of the other expenses as well. As per my knowledge category doesn't make an impact on the fee structure. There are many government as well as private scholarships for students you can apply in any of them if you are fulfilling their eligibility criteria.The department also helps regarding any thing or any queries if you have about the scholarship.For the students just after 12th can apply for many eligible scholarships but yes not all scholarships are for everyone it is very important to search about the scholarship eligibility criteria .
Campus Life :
Probably the fests happens all around the year as university celebrates probably each and every occasion and important dates ,but mainly it starts after the university election is completed . We have a huge library and huge collection of books for each and every department as well as for general knowledge, spirituality etc and many more. We have many clubs to which different students be the part of different clubs and yes we have sports club too and there are many extracurricular activities goes around throughout the year. Photography club,sports club,film club and many more.
Hostel Facilities :
I don't stay in the hostel but some of my friends stay there so according to them the environment of hostel is quite nice and also the food provided there is also quite good but they offer for two times a day .

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

Placement Experience :
The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
