Remarks :
as vssut is the oldest engineering college of odisha, and it has its name and fame. it is a government institution. to get into vssut one must appear the joint entrance examination (jee) or also can give the odisha jee (ojee) . with the score you get in these examination you can sit for the ojee counselling where you have to fill your choices for the branches in vssut. according to your percentille you will get the respective branch. for computer science engineering you have to score 90 percentile in jee above 75 percentile for electrical engineering and just like this .
Course Curriculum Overview :
i am pursuing electrical and electronics engineering in vssut. i got it through the ojee counselling. the faculties are well qualified, most of the faculty members have done btech , mtech and phd from prestigious colleges like iit's, nit's. a student can freely ask his/her doubts to the faculty members without fear as they are very supportive and friendly. they also help us to perform good in academic field.
Internships Opportunities :
college itself provides internship in third year if you comes in top 4 to 5 students in your branch. otherwise you have to find it by yourself where you want to do the internship. i have done one internship of 30 days in tata power via referral i didn't get any stipend for that. few companies provide internship and give stipend for it.
Placement Experience :
there is not any specific eligibility criteria given by college. the companies have some eligibilities to sit in placement. for software companies like kfintech, delliote, tech mahindra, infosys , tcs recruits a large number of students. for core companies like aditya birla, vedanta, jsw, tata power, tata electronics, maruti suzuki, archellor mittal recruits a large number of students from branches like electrical, mechanical, chemical etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
the year wise fee a student had to pay for the self sustaining course is Rs.123000 which includes the hostel fees and the course fees. the tuition fees, caution fees and all other types are included in this amount. for regular course students had to pay Rs. 80000 which also includes the hostel fees and the course fees. students are able to able most of the state government scholarships which gives an amount of 20000 per year. and few students get scholarships of jsw, reliance foundation in the 1st year.
Campus Life :
the two fests that are conducted in vssut are vassaunt and samavesh where vassaunt is the cultural fest and samavesh is the technical fest. before covid vassaunt and samavesh were held separately in the month of december and march but after covid they are conducted at the same time during the day time events for samavesh are organised and at night the cultural program are held for the vassaunt. most of the books that you need for the respective course you get are available in the central library of the college. the books written by the best authors are available with a large number. a sports fest is also organized during december named as illumina it is a three day event where students show participation in a large number. there are technical, cultural and sports club present in our college and they are performing very well in competitions.
Hostel Facilities :
most of the students get hostel. there are more than 10 hostels 7 for boys and 5 for girls. the facilities provided in hostels are better than any other government colleges in our state. the rooms are spacious. in each room 4 beds are provided with cupboards tables and chairs. when you will register for admission in the college then you also have to apply for hostel at the same time. the menu is good but the quality of food is ok.

After completion of this course go for national health mission recruitment In odisha opsc amo exam conducted many students were passed the exam from our college and got posted. You can go for many pharmacy company 100 percent of students getting placement

There campus placement here are ok startups came here and many big mncs like tcs, flipkart etc. Some department get companies like the MBA but that is an exceptional case. No other department participate in campus drive or placement cell. Students need to apply off campus to get placed.

for placement students need to get atleast 7cgpa. The placement is decent where most students around 85% get placed . Main companies are accenture, tcs, infosys , cognizant etc. Highest package was 9lpa and average was around 4lpa . I plan to work in one of the companies i get placed in.

Placement Experience :
Students are eligible for placements from third year onwards on a condition that the student has good skills and created good projects. Companies are still coming to ITER since July, various companies like Wipro, Xerox, Paytm, Flipkart, DELL, Microsoft, TCS Infosys and various other MNCs and startups come to the campus for placements and also provide pre placement offers. Currently I have no idea about the highest and average packages as per the company and the profiles offered, but I know that the highest package offered in Iter has been 43 lakhs pa and the average package is around 6lacs-8lacs. There are certain criteria set by the college for the students to be eligible to sit in the placement, out of that more than 85% to 90% of eligible students have secured placements. Students also get internships from second year. After I get a degree and if I land a suitable job then it's okay otherwise I will look to get into civil services or defence.

It has average placements. They also provide training for that. You will be eligible from 4th year. They also provide practice schools where the eligibility is 8 cgpa. They also provide training in the 3rd and 4th year. The companies which I know are Infosys Accenture Capgemini Genpact Mindfire solutions Mindtree. Tcs. pwC Deloitte Inovaare Tata Power Cosmovolt Tech Mahindra etc. They mostly provide the packages in the range 3.5-6 lpa ..The average oncampus placement this year was 4.5 lpa and the highest was 14.5 lpa. The 30 lpa shown was off campus. So you can get jobs according to your skills and cgpa . Overally the placement is just average but roi may be better.

Actually as I am a undergraduate I don't exactly know how much is the eligibility criteria for placement but I know that the guest lecturers are given according to number of classes they do in a month My plans after getting a degree is to give jrf net /gate and to further study in reasearch lines.

Eligibility criteria for placements are based on cgpa cut off and no backlogs are allowed. A few companies that came for recruitment are Infosys, Tcs , Accenture , Cognizant , Dell , Deloitte . Profiles offered are mostly of software engineer and average package is around 600000 per annum . My plan after getting degree is to go into software engineering job .

Placement Experience :
The placement scenario is quite good as most of the students get placed before the completion of course with a decent package. Average package is around 8lpa and the highest package till now is 60+ lpa.

Yes, we do have a placement cell over here and is quite good. Many well-known companies come to recruit their employees, and the companies are quite satisfied over our senior's hard work and smartness. Many companies like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Delloyd, etc., come to give good placements to the students at the college. I don't know the exact numbers, but the highest package was around 45 lakhs, and the average package was around 5 lakhs per annum. The average percentage of students getting placements is roughly around 70% to 80%. Currently for me, I don't have a solid plan to what to do but you never know some miracle might happen. Just joking, I do have a plan for the near future, but I am little worried about the future that on one before me start that initiative that I have thought about it.
