- Infrastructure is beautiful and decent, with a 164 acre area filled with greenery and buildings spread across beautifully
- Placements and opportunities here are top notch, among engineering colleges.
Dislikes
- Some of the faculties have less teaching skills but all of them are highly qualified and passionate about their subjects.
- Crowd is a bit more due to more seats and 85% Delhi state quota and others.
Remarks :
DTU has an old and rich legacy starting from 1940s as Delhi Polytechnic and later, Delhi College of Engineering. There are various good aspects including beautiful campus, infrastructure, placements record and facilities. There are no as such bad aspect, other than 85% state quota, which slightly decreases the quality of crowd. Admissions for BTech are taken from JAC Delhi counselling with the help of JEE Mains scorecard. There are no GD/PIs. You just have to register in the counselling and wait for round results and document verification.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum and academics are also quite relevant and good. In my view, my course has one of the best curriculum for its department among engineering colleges. In first year, they will teach you about basic engineering subjects; and after first year, your core course subjects starts to appear. There are electives also to choose from. Regarding faculties, all of them are quite knowledgeable in their own fields. And many of them have their own research paper published. Yes, some of them lacks a great teaching methodology but they have passion for their subjects.
Internships Opportunities :
College also helps its student in providing them internship opportunities in third year, with many companies coming and offering good roles and stipend along with an excellent industrial exposure and skill training. Although most of the roles and profiles comes for the tech positions. If you are skilled enough along with a decent score, you can easily get internships.
Placement Experience :
DTU is known for its strong industrial networks with many big names and companies coming each year for placement season. Many companies including Google, Microsoft, Atlassian, etc. visits campus for on-campus placements. Many opportunities whether profiles of tech, non-tech or core comes for the students. Highest package for the latest year was 85LPA with around 70-80% placed for tech branches. Including overall branches, average is around 15LPA
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For first year, total fees is 247000 Rs. After that every year, 20000 Rs. would be added. So, overall fees for the whole course of BTech for 4 years is Rs.1100000 approximately. It includes Tuition fees and other components like student welfare fees, facilities fees, etc. The fees is same for all categories. However, for SC/ST/OBC and EWS people, respective fee waivers and scholarships are available. Like you can apply for SC/ST post matric scholarship, MCM scholarships and DTU fee waivers.
Campus Life :
Life at campus is full of fun with everything ranging from academics to extra curriculars happening throughout year. Our college conducts multiple fests and competitions throughout year. Like, "Engifest" of DTU is the largest North Indian cultural fest among colleges and universities. Library is also well equipped with centralised AC and WiFi, consisting of various books/ journals of various subjects and departments. Classrooms also have digital smart boards present with centralised AC. Sports are also encouraged here and many teams participate in various competitions held here. Also, numerous student run societies and clubs have their presence here ranging from tech to fun groups.

IGNOU offers limited direct campus placement opportunities, but the degree is widely recognized and helps improve employability. Students mainly secure jobs through off-campus applications, competitive exams, or by upgrading their skills. The flexible learning system allows learners to work, prepare for higher studies, or pursue professional certifications alongside their course. IGNOU also conducts periodic placement drives through its Campus Placement Cell.

The internship opportunities are mainly available for the commerce departments and many companies also come to offer internships here. For humanities departments to internships comes mainly from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and home ministry.

The placement cell is active. Companies like Agile Capital Services, Chegg, and Wipro visit. Eligibility requires 60%+ marks. Highest CTC offered is around 8 LPA and Average package is 4.5 LPA. Around 40-50% students get placed, while science graduates prefer higher studies (M.Sc / B.Ed). My plan is pursuing higher education and managing my student e-portfolio platform.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college
Placement Experience :
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
Maitreyi college is so underrated

The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
