The image of the college in general, the city and the social life offered were some major aspects that I considered when I chose this college. For entrance, we have an online competitive exam called SET that's held twice per year, generally in consecutive weeks. The test has 4 sections, quantitative, logical reasoning, English language and general knowledge. It's a 60min exam and has 60 questions. The call for Personal Interview came at 37 marks this year. The interviews are held by experienced panelists and are online. People from any stream can apply for the BBA degree that SCMS Pune offers. The only negative aspects of this college are the lack of infrastructure and open area. The classes are old-fashioned and there's no AC anywhere. The campus itself is situated in the middle of the city, so it's obviously not that big. The same small campus is shares by 3 colleges right now. However, next year, SSLA will be shifted here on the same campus as well.
I chose this particular course since I was interested in business and plan to do an MBA for my post graduation. The faculty here is quite experienced in their respective fields, albeit some are kind of lazy. Their teaching methods provide hands-on experience and the assignments are interesting as well. The term exams can be difficult but if you have paid attention in class, they won't seem so. There are 2 semesters per year, the first sem lasts from July to November while the second sem is from December to April. The fees is quite high for a BBA degree but I believe the social life here kind of makes up for that.
The college has a Placement cell and an Internshio Cell run by students, that release internship drives every now and then. The internships are all paid, with the stipend ranging from ?2000 to ?8000 per month. They are generally sales internships or social media handling.
The eligibility criteria for placement is that you shouldn't have more than 2 warning letters throughout your time in college. Some common recruiters here are Zomato and Amazon. Since it's just a BBA degree, the packages are not so good. They range from 4lpa to 11lpa, the average being 6-8lpa. More than 90% students who sat for placements got a job this year. My personal plan is to pursue an MBA from Symbiosis itself after this degree.
The cultural fest, Sympulse, is held in December. Other significant events are Cultural Nights (Inter-division cultural competition), Conoscenza (Inter-division business competition) and Invictus (Inter-class sports competition). The library itself is small, but the college offers an e-library which has a plethora of options. The classrooms are not too good, just decent enough. The sports facilities are divided across different campuses. Our campus has a basketball court and a football ground. The hostels also have carrom, table tennis and snooker tables. There are a bunch of student-run clubs, ranging from finance club to dramatics club, as well as several committees. The hostel has a different menu each week. The variety is good, but the food itself is okay-ish. The hostel costs ?240000 per year, with staying and 4 meals a day. There are several pgs in the same locality, but most start from 30k per month.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.
engineering course curriculum is very old specially for university batch students my batch get admission in 2022 at that our college is not get autonomous status. passing semester exams is little hard in university compare to autonomous batch. faculties teachings methods are very old.
