Likes
- There is a relaxed attendance criteria so you can indulge in extra curriculars.
- The computer labs are being updated so infrastructure is getting better.
Dislikes
- The rest of the campus is not that good. It's pretty small with very less spaces outside of classrooms where you can actually sit and so something.
- The faculty is sometimes very nosy of groups sitting inside the campus.
Remarks :
The college is affiliated to IPU which is a respected university in the Delhi NCR region. MSIT is the top college for B.Tech under IPU after main campus. The JEE cutoff was not very high and I was allotted the CSE evening shift. The placements are good enough, my seniors were placed in good jobs.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum was recently updated for all engineering courses which made it much more updated towards the industry standard. Specializations were introduced which make the degree more valuable. The faculty is very nice and learned with good knowledge of what they're teaching. For exams - there's one mid term exam and one university regulated end term exam. Fee Hike is not that steep and cost to study is also nominal as compared to private universities and other colleges.
Placement Experience :
Placements are pretty good by Delhi Engineering college standards. All good companies come for college placements. Average package is also good (8lpa+). Companies come for both tech and non tech roles.
Campus Life :
The campus is pretty bad for the MSIT building. Fests aren't very regular. There's 3 or 4 yearly fests which don't have fixed dates. The library is good, it has a lot of reading material and you can get course books from the book bank free of cost. Classroom amenities aren't that nice. Most classrooms are not air conditioned. Sports is non existent. There's a ground but they rarely allow you to play. College team practices do happen for football. For extracurriculars, there's many college societies that you can join like IEEE, NSS, Drama Society. I really recommend joining the debating society. It's one of the most active and welcoming society. Hostels are cheap but not good quality. PGs are readily available near campus but Janakpuri is a posh area so they're expensive.

The placement cell is active. Companies like Agile Capital Services, Chegg, and Wipro visit. Eligibility requires 60%+ marks. Highest CTC offered is around 8 LPA and Average package is 4.5 LPA. Around 40-50% students get placed, while science graduates prefer higher studies (M.Sc / B.Ed). My plan is pursuing higher education and managing my student e-portfolio platform.
