Likes
- I like the simple peaceful vibe here. There are trees and not much pathways inside the college.
- I like the front side of the college. It consists of cool colours and has a good look.
Dislikes
- The overall infrastructure is not satisfactory at all.
- The playground is not maintained and can be enlarged and made better if worked upon.
Remarks :
I hadn’t gotten admission through JEE and CEE entrance exams, and dropping out a year ago was something I didn’t want to go for. So I searched for a private college that had to be in my home state, has a better placement record than others, is in a developed city, has lower ragging cases, and is affordable. And GIMT had all of it, at least to our knowledge. I faced a little introductory session during the admission but it was quite simple.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose computer science and engineering because I’ve always been fascinated by technology and its potential to solve complex problems through lines of code on a screen. The faculty of my department is very knowledgeable and experienced. They also provide help with almost all of our doubts. The term exams are timed well, while the difficulty level is sometimes quite higher than what was taught in the classes. The fees per semester, and other aspects like exam registration all are understandable.
Internships Opportunities :
I’m in my second year and I have done a social internship before in my 1st year. And this time I have applied for an Industrial internship at various places. The college finds and gives us internship opportunities and is normally informant about it.
Placement Experience :
The placements cell of our college is quite active and most of the students having sufficiently good marks get placed in the on-campus placements. The eligibility criteria are having 75% attendance, and no backlogs in any semester (If there are any backlogs the student has to clear the exam again). Few of the recruiters include Airtel, bosch, and axis bank, and the offers provided are generally between 3-6 lpa. Though the package is usually low, the placement record overall is quite good. Last year the percentage of students' placement was above 70%. Though this year the number is less. I will apply for off-campus placements. I will go for Development and other side-hobbies related to computer science and also my talents.
Campus Life :
Campus life is rather quite simple and boring. We have an annual college fest named “EUPHUISM” that’s generally held at the start of the year. The availability of books and journals is pretty good. All the necessary books for our courses are mostly available. The classrooms don’t have many amenities. There are lights, fans, and normal blackboards. Few of the classes feature ACs and smart boards. Sports include cricket and football; we have an indoor stadium for badminton and table tennis. Also, there’s a gym attached to the indoor stadium. Our college has several clubs, with the Cultural Club being the most famous and active. I live in a hostel and it’s affordable, but the food quality isn’t satisfying.

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

I forever had a dream of starting a business by myself as I come from a business background I also wanted to help my father in his work , I wanted to grow my father's business by just putting technical efforts so this is the reason I chooses commerce Teachers are of very friendly nature and helpful If you attend regular college you won't face any difficulties in exams
Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
