- I have disliked one of things was the food of the university hostel
- Another one was gate entry within 9:30 PM
Remarks :
The main factors were the good natural environment of the university, good study culture, the good infrastructure of all the departments as well as hostel and many other facilities like good transportation to the main town and many more. The admission is fully based on the JEE(Joint Entrance Exam) Mains rank basis for the School of Engineering.
Course Curriculum Overview :
There is an overall good curriculum on a practical and theoretical basis and all the teachers are supportive. University provides scholarships to the BPL(Below Poverty line) students and for EWS, SC & ST students scholarships are provided by the union govt. The overall expance of the course for SoE students is close to about 3,23,44(All expanses like academics, hostel etc) and also you can check the university website for other courses.
Internships Opportunities :
I have done my internships with govt Institutions like PWD Assam, and PWD NH Division Assam without a stipend. The first project was like a site visit of a construction project of a building and the second one was a site visit and design analysis of a flyover project.
Placement Experience :
Eligibility for the placement is 6.5 CGPA and above and no backlogs. Placement is not quite good but there were some companies like L&T, KEC Int. Aakash Coaching Institute, etc The highest Package was 7 LPA 20 % of students got the placement. I will continue my studies.
Campus Life :
The best part of this university is the social culture. You can see many small fest and some big fest like Insignis(SoS), TechXetra(SOE, which will continue again from 2024) many cultural nights, annual meet ete. There is one central library where there is almost all books are available as you need, and an individual library in the department as well as in some hostels. There are fields for Cricket, Volleyball, Football etc and also an indoor playground for sports like badminton etc and also there is a gym. There are almost 10 clubs for sports and cultural events. there are 6 boys hostel and 8 girls hostel. The hostels are good but the food is not quite good.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.
