Remarks :
Being a tier 2 college it is good for those students who score a little less in JEE Mains exam. There were no such GD round admissions solely based on your JEE Mains rank and the PI round is conducted where basic details like name, dob, etc are verified.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is AICTE-approved and overall academic life is good on the campus. Faculties are engaging regarding curriculum and almost all faculties are PhD holders in their respective field of study. There are 3 tests conducted each semester and 1 assignment for a total of 150 marks (25+25+40+60), among them one 25 mark is for an assignment and one for the sessional test, 40 for mid-term, and 60 for end-term. There is no such fee hike policy as of now and many scholarship schemes are available as per the NSP portal.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, I have opted for two major internships one in NCC Limited and the other in PW(R)D Guwahati. Most internships are non-stipend but some do provide stipends for instance ITC which mostly picks from the Mechanical and Food Engineering Department.
Placement Experience :
The placement scenario is average. The eligibility criteria for placement are that there should be no current backlog or existing previous backlog. Notable companies include L&T, OIL, ONGC, BHARAT ELECTRONICS, and many more. The highest average package can vary between 6.5 lakhs to 12 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students getting placed varies from 30 to 50 per cent.
Campus Life :
Campus life is a good many fest are conducted by different departments, for instance, insignis conducted by sciences department, techxetra earlier conducted by engineering departments and is most likely to be conducted again this year, soundalicious by the department of food engineering technology, etc. Books and journals are easily available in the central library of the university. Sports and extracurricular activities are highly encouraged. There are many clubs like football, cricket, music, fine art, photography, etc. Food quality for a hostel is decent enough and mess fees amount to approx. 2500 varying from hostel to hostel.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
