Well, there are no bad aspects as you would expect with an IIT. The admission process is straightforward you have to clear JEE Mains and then score well enough to get to the rank so that you can expect IIT Roorkee.
The course curriculum is a rigorous one as anyone would expect from an IIT. The professors are nice but don't expect any free marks, and the methods of teaching are as same as any college it's the resources available and the students that make IITs different.
Well, almost all the companies that come for recruitment for full-time roles also offer internships. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Alphagrep etc visit the campus every intern season with stipends going upto 4-5 lakhs per month! Well, the projects during the internships depend on the role of the internship that you have and what role the company offers. Majorly all the companies that come to offer internships are for software development and data science.
The eligibility criteria for placements are solely dependent on the company you are applying for but in general, all the companies ask for a CGPA >=7 and no backlogs. There are a lot of companies visiting the campus
The campus is lush green its beauty is at its peak during the rainy season, winters in Roorkee are a whole adventure with every day starting with a dense fog and subzero temperatures. There are almost clubs for everything ranging from dramatics and dance to chess. The fest's name is 'Thomso' and it is conducted around October and is a 3-4 days carnival. There are plenty of books available in the library and everything you need in the classrooms. There are grounds and facilities for every recognised sport ranging from squash to cricket, football etc. The club IMG(Institute M) handles the main websites of the college. Well, the hostels are on a whole other level you would make lifelong friends and memories over there. There are enough facilities in the hostels including gyms, study rooms, playing rooms etc. The food quality in the mess is a slight concern as in every other college in India, you'll get decent food but you'll get easily bored with it within a few weeks.
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.
the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.
College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.
I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.
Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.
I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.
Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.
I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
There are good placement and job opportunities are there in off campus placement because there are many sites whivh provide job and internships like inteshala and there are many other platforms to find the job and internships
