- The campus is green and nice but needs to be maintained a lot.
- The infrastructure is good enough to support the students.
Dislikes
- It's need to be maintained The campus needs to be cleared and clean.
- Infrastructure can be developed more for the students and departments.
Remarks :
There is an entrance exam called the Common entrance examination ( CEE) conducted every year in Assam for admission to govt engineering colleges of Assam. I must say that JEC is very good in terms of education. The college is pretty good in terms of placement also. NEC has its legacy in Assam. It is the 2nd engineering college in North East of India. The campus is average but the faculty of every department is very helpful and good. PHOENIX is the annual fest organized at JORHAT ENGINEERING COLLEGE every year which attracts a lot of crowds all over north East.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I am doing this CSE course in Assam which I have got through the CEE exam. The faculty of the department are very friendly and helpful and very much knowledge. The admission is semester-wise. Odd sem admission is around 5-6 thousand while on the other hand Even sem admission is around 3-3.5 thousand which is very much affordable. We can apply for scholarships in NSP.
Internships Opportunities :
I am in my first year. So, no internship till now. But as my seniors are doing internships in NRL, ONGC , ADANI Construction, Tech Mahindra and many other reputed industries and also various start ups.
Placement Experience :
Placement is good enough. Companies like Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, L and T, NRL, ONGC, OIL, and others visit for campus recruitment. There are many other companies which visit here. The placement is decent.
Campus Life :
Phoenix is the fest organized in March to celebrate technology and its gifts to society. It's one of the best tech fest in Assam. There are a lot of clubs and societies like Coding, major games, minor games, dance, acting, drama, singing, energy, etc.
Hostel Facilities :
Total 10 hostels, 8 boys' hostels and 2 girls' hostels. The hostel fee is 12000 per year and the mess fee is different. Food is good in the mess of JORHAT ENGINEERING COLLEGE. The month-end fest is also organized in all the hostels.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
