CCSHAU Admission Dates 2027

The expected 2027-28 schedule covers CCSHAU applications, entrance tests, merit lists, counselling, and the beginning of classes. These dates are tentative and follow the university's usual yearly admission calendar.

PG and Ph.D courses follow separate admission calendars. ICAR-funded M.Sc and M.Tech seats use ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF scores, while CCSHAU's entrance test applies to university-funded seats.

CCSHAU Courses and Fees

CCSHAU runs more than 60 programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral levels through 8 constituent colleges. The Government of Haryana regulates the fee structure. The amounts below apply to the general state quota.

Other options include a 5-year integrated Diploma in Agriculture plus B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture programme and postgraduate diplomas in Remote Sensing and GIS. Boys' and girls' hostels are available, with yearly charges of up to INR 13,390.

CCSHAU Admission Process

Selection at CCSHAU depends on the programme. The university uses its entrance examination, academic merit, national test scores, counselling, and interviews as applicable. Haryana domicile applicants receive priority under the state quota, while open-category seats allow applicants from other states to compete.

B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture and BFSc Admission

Applicants need at least 50% in 10+2 with PCB, PCM, or Agriculture as their main subjects. Selection combines the CCSHAU Entrance Examination with performance in the qualifying examination.

B.Tech Agricultural Engineering Admission

Admission uses either the CCSHAU entrance test or JEE Main. Students must have studied PCM in 10+2 and secured at least 50%. Haryana residents who completed their Haryana board or CBSE studies at a Haryana-based school can apply under the Haryana quota.

MBA and MRM Admission

MBA and Master in Rural Management applicants need a bachelor's degree with at least 50%. CCSHAU accepts CAT, MAT, CMAT, and XAT scores. After entrance-score screening, the relevant college conducts shortlisting, a group discussion, and an interview.

M.Sc, M.Tech, and MFSc Admission

Two seat routes apply to postgraduate science and engineering courses. ICAR-funded seats are assigned through the national merit list for the ICAR All India Competitive Examination, or AICE-JRF/SRF. University-funded seats use the CCSHAU entrance examination. M.Sc and MFSc applicants need a B.Sc (Hons) in a relevant or allied subject. M.Tech applicants require a B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering and a valid GATE or ICAR AICE score.

Ph.D Admission

A relevant master's degree and a valid UGC NET, ICAR JRF, or ICAR SRF qualification are required for Ph.D admission. CCSHAU fills university-funded seats through its doctoral entrance examination and an interview. Research across all 8 constituent colleges includes fields such as Plant Pathology, Entomology, Agricultural Economics, and Food Science.

CCSHAU Placements

The CCSHAU Placement Cell supports final-year students from B.Tech, MBA, M.Sc, and integrated programmes during campus recruitment. Employers mainly represent agribusiness, agricultural inputs, food processing, rural development, banking, rural finance, FMCG, IT, and farm machinery.

Regular recruitment opportunities come from ICAR institutes, State Agriculture Departments, NABARD, NCDEX, agricultural input companies, and government-linked organisations. Food-processing, farm-machinery, and precision-agriculture firms recruit B.Tech students, while M.Sc and M.Tech students also enter research and public-sector organisations.

Many postgraduate and doctoral alumni choose teaching or research roles at ICAR stations, state agricultural universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, and central institutes. B.Sc Agriculture graduates also commonly prepare for UPSC Civil Services and state PSC examinations.

CCSHAU Rankings

CCSHAU appears in more than one NIRF category. Its assessment covers areas such as teaching quality, research output, and income generated through industry work across the constituent colleges.

The university does not take part in international ranking systems such as QS or THE. Its main quality recognition comes from ICAR/NAEAB accreditation and NIRF. Across recent ranking cycles, CCSHAU has maintained a place among the top 15 institutions in the Agriculture category.

CCSHAU Campus and Infrastructure

CCSHAU's Hisar campus covers 7,219 acres, while its outstation campuses across Haryana contribute another 1,426 acres of operational land. The main site contains 8 constituent colleges, administrative buildings, faculty housing, research stations, working farms, processing laboratories, and separate hostels for male and female students.

Academic and research facilities include a central library with a digital resource centre, departmental laboratories, post-harvest processing facilities, a dairy farm, and a seed-processing unit. The surrounding agricultural region allows university farms to support classroom learning, field experiments, and exposure to actual crop seasons. Sports grounds are also available.

Hostel fees are up to INR 13,390 per year, including meals and utilities. Students can also use the campus health centre, bank branch, and internal transport facilities.

CCSHAU Scholarships

CCSHAU students may apply for university, Haryana government, and central government financial-aid schemes. Awards are generally based on academic performance, financial need, category, or success in a qualifying examination.

Central scholarship applications are handled through the official National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in. Students apply for ICAR fellowships through the official ICAR portal while registering for the AICE-JRF/SRF examination.

CCSHAU vs PAU Ludhiana vs GBPUAT Pantnagar

CCSHAU, PAU Ludhiana, and GBPUAT Pantnagar are state agricultural universities in northern India with ICAR recognition. Their differences include campus size, accreditation, research focus, entrance route, and institutional history.

Among the three, PAU Ludhiana has the highest NAAC grade and a strong record in seed-variety development linked with Punjab's agricultural production. GBPUAT Pantnagar was India's first agricultural university, has the largest campus, and provides broad interdisciplinary exposure. CCSHAU is particularly associated with dryland and semi-arid farming research suited to the conditions of Haryana and northwest India. The three universities have similar fee ranges and offer PG programmes eligible for ICAR fellowships.
