IIM Shillong PGPM Selection Criteria 2026

The PGPM admission process has 2 phases. In Phase 1, IIM Shillong selects candidates for the Personal Interview. In Phase 2, the institute prepares the final merit list and sends admission offers.

  • Phase 1 shortlisting: CAT overall percentile has 65% weight, and Normalised Application Rating Score has 35% weight. NARS includes Class X marks, Class XII marks, graduation marks, and work experience months.
  • Work experience score: The highest work experience score is 14 points for 18 to 23 months. Applicants with less than 7 months or 42 or more months score zero. Work experience of 7 to 11 months gives 6 points, and 12 to 17 months gives 12 points.
  • Academic diversity: PI calls are divided in proportion to each academic stream's share in CAT 2026. Engineering, Commerce, Arts, Sciences, and other streams get proportional call slots, so one stream does not take over the intake.
  • Final merit weights: CAT carries 40%, PI carries 40%, Application Rating Score carries 10%, and Gender Score carries 10%.
  • Gender score: Female candidates receive 10 points under the gender score. Male candidates receive zero because men form the majority of the CAT applicant pool. This rule is part of the official formula.
