IIM Shillong PGPM Admission 2027

IIM Shillong selects students for PGPM 2027-29 mainly through CAT 2026. The process first creates a Personal Interview shortlist and then prepares the final merit list after PI.

IIM Shillong PGPM Selection Process 2027

PGPM admission has two main phases. In Phase 1, IIM Shillong uses a Composite Score to call students for PI. In Phase 2, an Overall Score (OS) is used for final merit.

Phase 1: Shortlisting for PI

Only students who clear the section-wise CAT cutoffs are considered. Composite Score is calculated as 65% CAT percentile and 35% Normalised Application Rating Score (NARS). NARS means the student’s ARS is scaled against the top 50 ARS scores in the pool.

ARS includes Class X marks, Class XII marks, graduation marks and work experience. The maximum ARS is 44 points. Ranking is done separately by academic discipline and social category.

Work experience can add up to 14 points in ARS. The scoring pattern for PGPM 2027-29 is based on the official 2026-28 document:

Phase 2: Final Merit List (Overall Score)

Students who meet the minimum PI requirements are placed in the final merit process. The Overall Score uses these weights:

IIM Shillong PGPEx Selection Process

PGPEx admission is completed in four steps. IIM Shillong first checks applications and shortlists students on profile strength. Shortlisted students then attend the Executive Assessment Centre (EAC), which has a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

  • Step 1: Fill the online application on the IIM Shillong portal and pay the INR 3,000 fee.
  • Step 2: Check the shortlisting notification through email and the IIM Shillong website.
  • Step 3: Attend the EAC at one of up to three preferred venues. DA and overseas students may attend online.

IIM Shillong IPM 2027-32 is the next five-year integrated programme cycle. It gives students a post-graduate management degree without needing a separate MBA entrance exam later.

The 2026-31 admission cycle is over. The next cycle is expected to begin in May 2027.
