Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) is a state university in Rourkela, Orissa, established in 2002. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes, including B.Tech and MBA. Applicants must submit a demand draft of INR 1000 with the application form.

Students applying for undergraduate courses must have passed the 10+2 examination. Postgraduate programmes require a relevant bachelor’s degree, while M.Phil and PhD applicants need a postgraduate degree in the required field.

BPUT Rourkela UG Admission

BPUT provides undergraduate education in Technology, Architecture, Hotel Management and Pharmacy. B.Tech and B.Pharm each take 4 years to complete, while B.Arch runs for 5 years. The BHMCT programme has a duration of 3 years. Admission to these courses requires a pass in the 10+2 examination from a recognised board.

Course Eligibility
B.Tech Students must pass Class 12 in the science stream from a recognised board. Their subjects must include Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or Biotechnology, a language and one other subject.
B.Pharm Applicants need at least 50% aggregate marks in 10+2. They must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, or Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
BHMCT Students must have passed the 10+2 examination through a recognised board. Preference is given to those who have a good command of English.
B.Arch Applicants must have completed the intermediate examination in the relevant field through a recognised board.

Selection is decided by the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. BPUT assigns colleges according to merit. Selected students must then report to the allotted institute and complete its admission formalities.

BPUT Rourkela PG Admission

At the postgraduate level, BPUT offers M.Arch, M.Tech and M.Pharm to graduates from the relevant fields. Each programme lasts 2 years. Eligible students can obtain the application form through BPUT’s official website.

Course Eligibility
M.Arch Applicants must hold a B.Arch degree from a recognised university.
M.Tech Preference is given to students who have completed B.Tech from a recognised university with at least 55% aggregate marks.
M.Pharm Students must have a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy to apply.

Students who meet the eligibility conditions can join their chosen programme after the college allotment is completed. The filled application must reach the BPUT registrar before the deadline with a demand draft of INR 1000.

BPUT MBA and MCA Admission

BPUT also conducts full time MBA and MCA programmes, both with a duration of 2 years. Applicants need a graduate degree in the relevant field. Work experience is also required for MBA admission.

Course Eligibility
MBA Students must have a graduate degree in a management course with at least 50% aggregate marks.
MCA A graduate degree in a relevant course field is required.

MBA selection takes place in three stages. Applicants first sit for an entrance examination conducted by BPUT. Those who clear the test attend a group discussion and an interview. BPUT then prepares a merit list, and the students named in it may complete admission. MCA admission is based on the applicant’s merit.

BPUT Rourkela M.Phil and PhD Admission

BPUT offers M.Phil and PhD research programmes with a duration of 5 years. PhD specialisations cover Engineering and Technology, Computer Applications, Architecture, Management, Pharmacy, and Science and Humanities.

Course Specialization Eligibility
PhD Engineering and Technology, Computer Applications, Architecture, Management, Pharmacy and Science and Humanities Applicants must have a relevant master’s degree from a recognised university with at least 55% aggregate marks. Reserved category students receive a relaxation of 5%.
M.Phil - Applicants need a master’s degree from a recognised university with a minimum aggregate of 55%. A relaxation of 5% applies to reserved category students.

Admission depends on an entrance examination followed by an interview. Students who clear the examination are invited for the interview. BPUT prepares the final merit list from their performance, and those included in the list can proceed with admission.
