IIM Trichy Important Dates 2027

PGPM and PGPM-HR admission for the 2027-29 batch is based on CAT 2026 and the Joint Admission Process (JAP). IIM Trichy, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, and IIM Ranchi use one CAT score and one JAP application for admission.

IIM Trichy Major Courses and Fees

IIM Trichy offers more than 12 programmes in full-time management, executive education, doctoral studies, PG certificates, and short certificates. Across programmes, the fee ranges from INR 85,500 to INR 19.5 Lakhs.

PGPM and PGPM-HR students pay the fee in six equal terms of INR 3.25 Lakhs each. Term 1 also includes a refundable caution deposit of INR 30,000. A mess advance of INR 20,000 per term is charged separately. PGPM-HR students pay an additional acceptance fee of INR 1 Lakh in Term 1, which is adjusted against the first-term tuition component.

IIM Trichy Admission Process

IIM Trichy admits students to PGPM and PGPM-HR through the Joint Admission Process. With one CAT score and one JAP application, a candidate is considered for IIM Trichy, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, and IIM Ranchi. Among these four JAP institutes, IIM Trichy has the highest CAT cutoff.

PGPM and PGPM-HR Admission

Applicants need a recognised bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate marks. The minimum is 45% for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. Final-year students can apply provisionally. Indian applicants must have a valid CAT score.

1. Register for CAT 2026 and appear for the exam.
2. Meet the required overall and sectional CAT cutoffs for the category.
3. Fill the JAP application after shortlisting.
4. Appear for the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).
5. Wait for the final composite score, which uses CAT performance, academics, work experience, WAT, and PI.
6. Complete admission formalities after receiving the final offer.

Shortlisted candidates attend WAT and PI at one of 10 venues across India during February to March 2027. The final composite score gives weightage to CAT performance, academic record, work experience, WAT, and PI. The ideal work experience window is 24 to 29 months. Female candidates get a 6% gender diversity bonus, while non-engineering first-class graduates get a 2% academic diversity bonus.

IIM Trichy does not offer direct admission or management quota seats. PGPM and PGPM-HR seats are filled only through CAT-based merit and JAP selection.

PGPBM (Executive Programme)

The PGP in Business Management is a 2-year executive programme at the Chennai Campus. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and at least five years of full-time work experience. The programme accepts CAT, GMAT, or GATE scores and follows an admission schedule separate from JAP.

PG Certificate and Short Certificate Programmes

Working professionals can apply for PG Certificate programmes in Financial Technologies, Strategic HRM, Healthcare Management, and Manufacturing Management and Analytics through application and profile screening. No entrance exam is needed. Short certificate courses in Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Project Management follow open enrolment and rolling admission cycles.

IIM Trichy Cutoffs

IIM Trichy uses category-wise overall and sectional CAT cutoffs for PGPM and PGPM-HR shortlisting. Clearing the cutoff is required, but it does not guarantee a shortlist.

IIM Trichy Placements

IIM Trichy's PGPM 2025 placement report was externally audited for the first time. The PGPM final placement process had 189 companies, while 40 companies hired from the PGPM-HR batch.

BFSI, which means Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance, made the highest number of PGPM offers. IT and IT services, consulting, FMCG, and manufacturing followed. Recruiters confirmed across both programmes included HDFC Bank, Deloitte, Infosys, Dabur, Accenture, and PwC.

PGPM-HR attracts specialist HR recruiters from manufacturing, financial services, and large conglomerates. IIM Trichy's South India location supports recruiter connections across Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Coimbatore, especially in manufacturing, IT services, and pharma. Its alumni hold senior management roles in FMCG, BFSI, and consulting, which has helped expand the recruiter base batch by batch.

IIM Trichy Rankings

IIM Trichy moved up by 11 positions in NIRF Management 2025. It reached rank 16 after being ranked 27 in 2024. This brought IIM Trichy into the top 20 management institutes in India.

IIM Trichy Scholarships

IIM Trichy provides institute-funded and government scholarship support to PGPM and PGPM-HR students. Its main institute scheme is the Academic Fee Waiver Scheme (AFWS), which began in the 2025-26 academic year.

AFWS is limited because only 2% of the enrolled cohort can receive it. Eligible students should apply through the institute when their admission is confirmed. Government scholarships are paid through the National Scholarship Portal.

IIM Trichy Campus Life

IIM Trichy's main campus is spread across 175 acres on the Trichy-Pudukottai highway, about 11 km from Tiruchirappalli International Airport. It is a fully residential campus where students, faculty, and staff stay within one integrated facility.

The institute has eight hostel blocks. One of them is an eight-storey block with 328 air-conditioned single-occupancy rooms. A new multi-storey addition has added 338 more single rooms, increasing the residential capacity. Male and female students have separate hostel accommodation. Hostel stay is compulsory for all PGPM and PGPM-HR students.

Academic spaces include air-conditioned smart classrooms with interactive projectors, HD cameras, and centralised AV controls. The campus also has a library, computer labs, a sports complex with indoor and outdoor facilities, a cafeteria, and a guest house. The Chennai Campus is a separate facility used for the PGPBM executive programme for working professionals.

IIM Trichy vs IIM Raipur vs IIM Kashipur

IIM Trichy, IIM Raipur, and IIM Kashipur are part of the Joint Admission Process. A candidate applying through JAP is considered together for the participating institutes. The main differences are CAT cutoff, fee, location, NIRF rank, and placement figures.

IIM Trichy has the strongest NIRF rank and the highest CAT cutoff among the three. It also reports a higher PGPM average CTC and has a strong recruiter network in South India. IIM Raipur and IIM Kashipur may suit candidates looking for the IIM brand with lower cutoff levels and industry connections in central and northern India.
